Novel features of asymmetric nuclear matter from terrestrial experiments and astrophysical observations of neutron stars by Tsuyoshi Miyatsu, Myung-Ki Cheoun, Kyungsik Kim, Koichi Saito

    Published 2025-02-01
“…The accurate measurement of neutron skin thickness of 208Pb by the PREX Collaboration suggests a large value of the nuclear symmetry energy slope parameter, L, whereas the smaller L is preferred to account for the small neutron-star radii from NICER observations. To resolve this discrepancy between nuclear experiments and astrophysical observations, new effective interactions have been developed using relativistic mean-field models with the isoscalar- and isovector-meson mixing. …”

Aerodynamic Performance of a Passive Pitching Model on Bionic Flapping Wing Micro Air Vehicles by Jinjing Hao, Jianghao Wu, Yanlai Zhang

    Published 2019-01-01
“…This study applies a bioinspired model that passively imitates insects’ pitching wings to resolve this problem. In this bionic passive pitching model, the wing root is equivalent to a torsional spring. α obtained by solving the coupled dynamic equation is similar to that of insects and exhibits a unique characteristic with two oscillated peaks during the middle of the upstroke/downstroke under the interaction of aerodynamic, torsional, and inertial moments. …”

Candido, Manish Dumen, Shengwei Zeng, Emily L.Q.N. Ammerlaan, Femke Bangma, Mun K. Chan, Michel Goiran, Ariando Ariando, Suvankar Chakraverty, Walter Escoffier, Uli Zeitler, Neil Harrison

    Published 2024-12-01
“…Here, we present insights into the electronic states of the 2DES at oxide interfaces through comprehensive investigations of Shubnikov–de Haas oscillations in three different systems: EuO/KTaO_{3}, LaAlO_{3}/SrTiO_{3}, and amorphous-LaAlO_{3}/KTaO_{3}. To accurately resolve these oscillations, we conducted transport measurements in high magnetic fields up to 60 T and low temperatures down to 100 mK. …”

Supervisory Monitoring Technology System for Key Drinking Water Sources in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area by CUI Fan, KOU Xinyue, FENG Youbin, XIE Yuning, HE Yingqing, ZHENG Ning

    Published 2021-01-01
“…In order to resolve the contradiction between the high demand for water resources, water ecology and water environment in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and the insufficient supervision capabilities in the water conservancy industry, and achieve the transformation from passive management to active management of key drinking water sources in the GBA,this paper carries out supervisory monitoring of key drinking water sources through remote sensing macro monitoring,UAV cruise monitoring,fixed-point monitoring and other intelligent monitoring technology system. The results show that:①After application of a supervisory monitoring technology system for key drinking water sources, the full-coverage,dynamic and quasi-real-time monitoring of 35 key water sources in the GBA is realized, and the risk sources and water problems can be identified efficiently.②For identifying five suspected risk sources in water source areas, namely construction projects, key river (reservoir) tributaries, temporary shipping stops, material stacking places, agricultural production activities by remote sensing macro monitoring and UAV cruise monitoring, the accuracy rate is 65.7%.③For the chlorophyll a and CODMn monitoring of the water source of main Guangzhou-Dongguan-Huizhou Dongjiangbei River by remote sensing macro monitoring and artificial fixed-point monitoring during the same period, the monitoring results of the two technical means are in good agreement. Therefore, with application of the technology system in supervision and management of key drinking water sources, the smart water conservancy supervision and business management are deeply integrated, and the effective technical means for supervision and management are available.…”
