Naturally occurring variation in a cytochrome P450 modifies thiabendazole responses independently of beta-tubulin. by J B Collins, Clayton M Dilks, Steffen R Hahnel, Briana Rodriguez, Bennett W Fox, Elizabeth Redman, Jingfang Yu, Brittany Cooke, Kateryna Sihuta, Mostafa Zamanian, Peter J Roy, Frank C Schroeder, John S Gilleard, Erik C Andersen

    Published 2025-01-01
“…We generated single gene deletions of cyp-35D1 and nhr-176 and found that both genes play a role in TBZ response. A predicted high-impact lysine-to-glutamate substitution at position 267 (K267E) in CYP-35D1 was identified in a sensitive strain, and reciprocal allele replacement strains in different genetic backgrounds were used to show that the lysine allele conferred increased TBZ resistance. …”

Not uni-dimension! Exploring the multi-dimensional concept of positive body image in the Chinese context by Hanqin Yan

    Published 2025-01-01
“…Confirmatory factor analysis was used to validate the three dimensions of positive body image, and a measurement invariance test was used to figure out the measurement invariance of the three scales on the gender variable, lastly, latent profile analysis was used to explore the latent categories of positive body image among Chinese college students.Results(1) Three measures of positive body image were able to measure Chinese college students' overall positive body image well, and had good measurement invariance on the variable of gender; (2) Chinese college students' positive body image could be divided into three potential categories, namely, “low-level of positive body image” (32.2%), “general-level positive body image” (40.4%), and “high-level positive body image” (27.4%); (3) positive body talk can significantly and positively predict the overall positive body image of Chinese college students.ConclusionWe conclude that the three measures of positive body image are valid and versatile to Chinese college students and have high relevance with positive body talk, we also validate the multidimensional concept of positive body image in the Chinese context and hope to lead future Chinese researchers for better understanding the multi-dimensional concept of positive body image, and use the three measures to measure the holistic positive body image. …”

    Published 2024-07-01
“…By analysing surveillance data from the federal reporting system for notifiable infectious diseases, we aimed to assess the potential impact of lifting COVID-19 associated NPIs on notifications of selected infectious diseases in Bavaria, 2022.MethodsWe compared influenza, chickenpox, norovirus gastroenteritis, rotavirus gastroenteritis weekly case numbers in a pre-pandemic period (2016–2019) and 2022 using two time series analyses approaches: (i) a predictive model forecasting weekly case numbers for the pandemic years 2020–2022, based on 2016–2019 data, (ii) interrupted time series model, based on 2016–2022 data, including a term per pandemic period.ResultsIn 2022, incidence rates were higher compared to pre-pandemic period for influenza (IRR = 3.47, 95%CI: 1.49–7.94) and rotavirus gastroenteritis (IRR = 1.36, 95%CI: 0.95–1.93), though not significant for rotavirus gastroenteritis. …”
