    “…In order to deeply explore the research progress of sponge cities in China during the “13th Five-Year Plan” period,and to predict the development direction of the research in the “14th Five-Year Plan”,taking a total of 1 157 documents from CNKI in 2016—2020 as data base,this article sets the node types in the CiteSpace to authors,institutions,and keywords in turn,and prepares various visual knowledge graphs about sponge city research and analysis,as well as summarizes and analyzes the research on sponge cities in terms of research status,focus,and development trends.The results show that:①During the “13th Five-Year Plan” period,research on sponge cities showed a steady upward trend.②There were more and more cooperation among authors with a high volume of articles,but the cooperation is still limited to the same institution or the same region.③The research institutions mainly include universities,urban or municipal planning and design enterprises,and scientific research institutes,which are mainly located in Beijing and the eastern coastal areas of China.Although the communication between institutions are less,there is also a trend of cross-regional cooperation in the later period.④The research hotspots of sponge cities are closely related to the national policies and the construction needs of sponge cities.⑤How to improve the drainage and waterlogging prevention capacity of urban facilities,and to slow down and eliminate the waterlogging in cities are still the key topics of future research.How to build sponge cities according to local conditions and promote the mutual adaptation of cities and the environment can also be one of the research focuses in the future.…”
