Mineralogical and geochemical characteristics of the third member of Palaeogene Dongying formation in the Nanpu Sag, Bohai Bay Basin: implications for controlling on organic matter... by Shiyan Yin, Shiyan Yin, Aidong Yao, Jianzhong Cheng, Chuang Lei, Zhaosheng Wang, Zhenguo Zhang, Ying Zhang, Yu Wang, Xiaoying Han, Zhigang Ma

    Published 2025-01-01
“…Introduction and MethodsTo identify the unconventional shale oil exploration potential of the third member of the Palaeogene Dongying Formation (Ed3) in the Nanpu Sag, Bohai Bay Basin, variations in paleoclimate and paleoenvironment and their influence on organic matter accumulation were investigated through analyzing mineralogical and geochemical characteristics of forty-nine mudstone samples.ResultsResults show that the Ed3 mudstones exhibit strong heterogeneity with the organic carbon content ranging from 0.30% to 2.66%, petroleum potential yield ranging from 0.44 to 11.41 mg/g, and hydrogen index ranging from 57 to 466 mg/g TOC, which are dominated by mixed kerogen and low maturity to maturity. …”

Development of world oil refining in the context of the coronavirus pandemic by A. P. Solomonov

    Published 2023-03-01
“…The serious changes observed in the structure of fuel production and consumption in the United States will have a significant impact on the development of the industry under study in the future, where there is already a shortage of refining capacity and unstable dynamics of prices for petroleum products. The introduction of additional capacities in the world oil refining, as noted in the article, will not have a significant positive impact on the oil product markets in the short term.…”

Aviation Fueling: A Cleaner, Greener Approach by Robert C. Hendricks, Dennis M. Bushnell, Dale T. Shouse

    Published 2011-01-01
“…Biofuels—sourced from halophytes, algae, cyanobacteria, and “weeds” using wastelands, waste water, and seawater—have the capacity to be drop-in fuel replacements for petroleum fuels. Biojet fuels from such sources solve the aviation CO2 emissions issue and do not compete with food or freshwater needs. …”
