Black Turpentine Beetle, Dendroctonus terebrans (Olivier) (Insecta: Coleoptera: Curculionidae: Scolytinae) by Albert E. Mayfield, John L. Foltz

    Published 2005-10-01
“…Light attacks may kill only localized sections of phloem tissue, but numerous attacks per stem result in tree mortality. Infestations commonly occur in pine stands affected by recent logging activity (e.g., thinning), fire, mechanical injury, storm damage, climatic stress, or competition (USDA Forest Service 1985, Dixon 1986). …”

High-speed hardware architecture design and implementation of Ed25519 signature verification algorithm by Yiming XUE, Shurong LIU, Shuheng GUO, Yan LI, Cai’e HU

    Published 2022-03-01
“…Aiming at the high performance requirements of signature verification for specific scenarios such as blockchain, a high-speed hardware architecture of Ed25519 was proposed. To reduce the number of calculations for point addition and point double, a multiple point multiplication algorithm based on interleaving NAF was conducted by using pre-computation and lookup tables. The modular multiplication operation was realized by using the Karatsuba multiplication and fast reduction method, and the point addition and point double operation was designed without modular addition and subtraction, which could effectively improve the performance of point addition and point double.Given that modular exponentiation was the most time-consuming operation in the decompression process, a new modular exponentiation approach was developed by parallelizing modular inverse and modular multiplication, and therefore the performance of the de-compression operation could be improved. The proposed architecture fully considers the use of resources and is implemented on the Zynq-7020 FPGA platform with 13 695 slices, achieving 8 347 verifications per second at 81.6 MHz.…”

Research on Water Conservation Function of Forest Ecosystem in Karst Mountain Area by LI Wenfang, YU Chunya, WANG Xiaonian, LIU Yiling

    Published 2021-01-01
“…Taking Qianxinan Prefecture as the research area, and using 2010 land use data, and annual precipitation data, this paper analyzes and studies the water conservation capacity and spatial differences of different forest ecosystems in eight counties and cities in Qianxinan Prefecture by the precipitation storage method. The results show that:①In 2010,the total amount of water conservation in the forest ecosystem of Qianxinan Prefecture was 1.89×1010 m3,and the total amount of water conservation per unit area was 1.98×105 m3;②From the perspective of spatial distribution, the total water conservation of the forest ecosystem is high in the middle and low in the surrounding areas;high in the south and low in the north;and high in the west and low in the east;③The evergreen coniferous forest has the most water conservation and the highest contribution rate, and the coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forest has the least area and less water conservation;④The forest water conservation is the most in Xingyi City and Wangmo County, and the least in Zhenfeng County.…”

Empowering Agricultural Economic Resilience in China: Does Green Finance Matter? by Xin Zhong, Jian Wang

    Published 2024-01-01
“…Key findings reveal: (1) National resilience levels are rising steadily, with a shift from the Eastern Region to the Central Region. (2) Green finance (GF) development displays an initial decline followed by an upward trend, mirroring resilience trends. (3) GF positively impacts resilience, with a 0.0325% increase for every 1% GF rise. (4) GF exhibits a significant positive spatial spillover effect, enhancing surrounding regions’ resilience by 0.3098% per 1% GF increase. (5) GF’s influence on resilience differs regionally, stronger in the East than the Central and West. …”
