Experimental Investigation on Propagation Behavior of Hydraulic Fractures in Coal Seam during Refracturing by Xun Sun, Shicheng Zhang, Xinfang Ma, Yushi Zou, Guanyu Lin

    Published 2019-01-01
“…Experimental results showed three different types of HF initiation and propagation during refracturing: (1) under low horizontal stress differences (0-2 MPa), HF propagated along the cleats, and no new HFs were formed on the walls of the initial HFs regardless of changes in the horizontal stress; (2) under high horizontal stress differences (4–8 MPa) with no stress inversion, a major HF was initiated parallel to the orientation of maximum horizontal stress during initial fracturing; new branches propagated along cleats in the orientation of the minimum horizontal stress during refracturing; and (3) under high horizontal stress differences (4–8 MPa) with maximum and minimum horizontal stress inversions, the main HF formed along the orientation of the maximum horizontal stress, and a new HF perpendicular to the initial HF was formed during refracturing. …”

Three-dimensional localization under severely obstructed NLOS environment by Zhu XIAO, Jie CHEN, Dong WANG, Xiao-hong LI, Ren-fa LI

    Published 2015-08-01
“…In the severely obstructed NLOS(non-line-of-sight)environment,obstacles between the UN(unknown node)and RS(reference station)made the DP(direct path)undetectable. It greatly restricted the application of wireless localization method.A three-dimensional localization scheme, which utilized the distance and orientation information of single-bounce signal, was proposed to evade the DP blocking effect in three-dimensional NLOS environment.Within the proposed localization scheme,three-dimensional spatial location relationship among the RS,UN and scatterers was proven.Anoptimization algorithm based on least mean square was proposed and the mathematical solution to the position relationship was derived.Furthermore, the performance of algorithm is studied by using RMSE(root mean-square error)analysis.Through Monte-Carlo simulations, how distance and orientation deviation of three-dimensional localization frame affect performance of algorithms is examined. It is also demonstrated that the analytical results closely match the simulations, which verifies the effectiveness of the proposed three-dimensional NLOS localization algorithm.…”

Influence of the Parental Family on the Trajectories of Professional Mobility of Postgraduate Students by R. G. Smirnov

    Published 2022-12-01
“…There is proposed differentiation of students in postgraduate school into two groups (“goal-oriented” and “coincidental”), and the following conclusions are drawn: 1) at the initial stage of education, the role and importance of the parental family in the view of postgraduate students is minimal; 2) by the time of completing postgraduate studies, goal-oriented postgraduate students change their minds, recognizing the importance of the family as a supporting factor of social and professional mobility; 3) in contrast to the period of studying in graduate school the parental family becomes a significant factor of mobility in the views and perceptions of postgraduate students about professional prospects and the formation of a career trajectory.…”

Messianic Hopes and Middle East Politics: the Influence of Millennial Faith on American Middle East Policies by Yaakov Ariel

    Published 2011-04-01

Research on Deformation Characteristics of Geomembrane in Welding of Membrane Faced Rockfill Dam by WU Xiuyu, ZHANG Xianlei, WU Yunyun

    Published 2021-01-01
“…In order to solve the problem that the roughness and local folds of geomembrane in the meridional and zonal welds affect the welding quality, this paper carries out the experimental study on thermodynamic deformation-temperature rule of HDPE/PE/PVC geomembrane by thermal mechanical analyzer, and reveals the deformation characteristics of geomembrane in welding construction by combining the experimental study with theoretical analysis. The experimental results show that the main cause is the difference between the meridional/zonal deformation, and the essential reasons are the history of temperature stress and the orientation of molecular structure of geomembrane in the production process. After being fully fused and formed by natural cooling under unconstrained conditions, the sample is subjected to deformation-temperature test. The test results verify the rationality of the theoretical analysis.According to the results, this paper proposes to improve the production process by avoiding the orientation of molecular structure, reasonably controlling the cooling temperature rate gradient and appropriately increasing the lap width between the meridional and zonal welds to offset the different deformation caused by the remakable differenence of thermodynamic deformation characteristics.…”
