Ultrahigh piezoelectric performances of (K,Na)NbO3 based ceramics enabled by structural flexibility and grain orientation by Li-Feng Zhu, Dong Liu, Xiaoming Shi, Shiqing Deng, Jiecheng Liu, Li-Yu Wei, Zi-Qi Yang, Qi Wang, Bo-Ping Zhang, Houbing Huang, Shujun Zhang, Jing-Feng Li

    Published 2025-01-01
“…Here, we achieve an ultrahigh piezoelectric charge coefficient d33 ∼ 807 pC·N−1, along with a high longitudinal electromechanical coupling factor (k33 ∼ 88%) and Curie temperature (Tc ∼ 245 °C) in the (K,Na)(Nb1-x Sb x )O3-Bi0.5Na0.5ZrO3-BiFeO3 (KNN-xSb) system through structural flexibility and grain orientation strategies. Phenomenological models, phase field simulations and high-angle annular dark-field scanning transmission electron microscopy reveal that the structural flexibility originates from the high Coulomb force between K+/Na+ ions and Sb ions in the KNN-xSb system, while the grain orientation promotes the displacement of B-site cations leveraging the engineered domain configuration. …”

High-Temperature Creep Behavior of a Nickel-Based Single-Crystal Superalloy with Small-Angle Deviation from [111] Orientation by Guangyan Wang, Song Zhang, Guoqi Zhao, Ning Tian, Huajin Yan, Sugui Tian, Fangwei Jin

    Published 2022-01-01
“…By means of tensile creep tests and microstructure analysis, the creep behavior and deformation mechanism of a nickel-based single-crystal alloy with small-angle deviations from the [111] orientation at 1040°C/137 MPa were investigated. The results suggested that in the early stage of creep, proliferating dislocations generated by different slip systems get accumulated in the γ phase. …”

From temporary bike lanes to a cycling oriented mobility paradigm. The case of Lyon during and after the pandemic of COVID-19 by Nathalie Ortar, Patricia Lejoux, Nicolas Ovtracht

    Published 2025-06-01
“…In Lyon (France), these street experiments posed two challenges for the city authorities: in the short term, to enable people to access essential services and shops while respecting the principles of physical separation; in the long term, to promote a new bicycle-oriented mobility paradigm that goes beyond infrastructure and includes velonomy and velomobility as a system. …”
