Spatial distribution and influencing factors of secondhand smoke exposure in Chinese healthcare facilities: a cross-sectional survey by Ying LIU, Xinying ZENG, Lin XIAO, Shiwei LIU

    Published 2024-12-01
    “…OLS spatial regression model analysis showed that regions with a higher proportion of males (β = 23.878, t = 3.207, P = 0.003), a higher proportion of individuals aged 0 – 14 years (β = 0.751, t = 3.665, P < 0.001), a higher proportion of individuals aged 15 – 64 years (β = 0.929, t = 3.279, P = 0.003), a higher illiteracy rate (β = 0.675, t = 2.703, P = 0.011), a higher tobacco consumer price index (β = 2.563, t = 2.384, P = 0.024), and a lower proportion of cities with smoke-free legislation (β = 0.069, t = 2.119, P = 0.034) had higher SHS exposure rates in healthcare facilities.ConclusionsSHS exposure in Chinese healthcare facilities is mainly concentrated in central-south, southwest, and northwest China. Sex ratio, the proportions of individuals aged 0 – 14 years and 15 – 64 years, illiteracy rate, tobacco consumer price index, and the proportion of cities with smoke-free legislation are the main influencing factors of SHS exposure in healthcare facilities in China.…”

Balancing water saving, market attractiveness, and pollution control in crop spatial planting structure planning of arid regions by Longbin Hao, Shouhong Zhang, Fan Zhang, Yufei Ren, Xinyu Zhang, Jing Yan

    Published 2025-03-01
“…This approach is applied to a case study in the middle reaches of the Heihe River in northwest China. Results indicate that: (1) The grid-based 0–1 integer multi-objective approach can effectively make tradeoff among market attractiveness, pollution control, and crop suitability for crop planting structure planning in arid regions. (2) Optimal crop planting structure can increase agricultural planting profits by 4.679 billion CNY, while reduces system agricultural non-point source pollution and total water allocation by 34.72 % and 10.19 %, respectively. (3) The multi-objective approach shows better performance than single-objective models by comparing the Synthetic Degree (SD), Sustainability Index (SI), and Approximation Degree (AD). …”

    Published 2025-01-01
“…By employing the EWM-TOPSIS model for comprehensive evaluation, the results indicated that mild water deficit (60–70% in FC) and moderate nitrogen application (270 kg·ha−1) at flowering and fruiting of eggplants was the optimal water and nitrogen application mode under mulched drip irrigation in the Hexi region of northwest China. The results will provide some theoretical basis for water-saving, productive, high-quality, and high-efficiency cultivation of eggplant in cold and arid environments.…”
