Effect and Mechanism of Catalpol on Behavior in Rats with Post-stroke Depression
Published 2022-02-01“…In the ELISA experiment, compared with the model group, 5-HT and BDNF in the catalpol intervention group were significantly increased on the 4th and 7th day after intervention, and the difference was significant (P<0.05); there was no significant difference in NE content in the catalpol intervention group on the 4th and 7th day after intervention (P>0.05); compared with the model group, the hippocampal 5-HT and BDNF in the catalpol intervention group increased significantly (P<0.05); there was no significant difference in the content of NE in hippocampus between the catalpol intervention group and the model group (P>0.05), indicating that catalpol could increase 5-HT and BDNF levels in rats with post-stroke depression, but did not significantly improve NE.ConclusionCatalpol can improve post-stroke depression, promote the recovery of neurological function, regulate the function of central serotonin system and promote the secretion of BDNF.…”

Do serial troponins predict the need for cardiac evaluation in trauma patients after ground-level fall?
Published 2024-10-01“…Here, we examine the role of serial troponins in predicting the need for further cardiac workup in trauma patients after sustaining a fall. Methods Retrospective review of all adult trauma activations for ground-level fall from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021 in patients who were hemodynamically and neurologically normal at presentation. Outcomes evaluated included need for cardiology consult, admission to cardiology service, outpatient cardiology follow-up, cardiology intervention and in-hospital mortality. Results There were 1555 trauma activations for ground-level fall in the study period. …”

Video Laryngoscopy for Endotracheal Intubation: A Consideration for Manual In-Line Stabilization Without Cervical Collar Versus Full Immobilization
Published 2025-01-01“…Nevertheless, the removal of the cervical collar for ETI in a prehospital setting may lead to a deterioration in neurological outcomes. This study compares the success rate of ETI utilizing a video laryngoscope (VL) on a manikin, contrasting manual in-line stabilization (MILS) without a cervical hard collar against full immobilization. Methods: A randomized, non-crossover study was conducted involving 56 paramedic students assigned by SNOSE to utilize various box sizes for VL intubation with MILS without a cervical hard collar or full immobilization technique on a manikin. …”
