Androgen Receptor Regulates Transcription of the ZEB1 Transcription Factor
Published 2011-01-01“…ZEB1 (also known as δEF1, zfhx1a, TCF8, and Zfhep) plays a key role in regulating such diverse processes as T-cell development, skeletal patterning, reproduction, and cancer cell metastasis. However, the factors that regulate its expression and consequently the signaling pathways in which ZEB1 participates are poorly defined. …”

Radionuclide Small Intestine Imaging
Published 2013-01-01“…Small intestine scintigraphies are only a complementary imaging method and can be successful, for example, for the detection of the bleeding site in the small intestine, ectopic gastric mucosa, carcinoid and its metastasis, or inflammation. Radionuclide scintigraphic small intestine imaging is an effective imaging modality in the localisation of small intestine lesions for patients in whom other diagnostic tests have failed to locate any lesions or are not available.…”

Extracellular vesicles—a new player in the development of urinary bladder cancer
Published 2025-01-01“…This publication summarizes the impact of EVs secreted by urinary bladder cancer cells on urinary bladder cancer development and metastasis. EVs isolated from urinary bladder cancer cells affect other lower-grade cancer cells or normal cells by inducing different metabolic pathways (transforming growth factor β/Smads pathway; phosphoinositide 3-kinase/Akt pathway) that promote epithelial–mesenchymal transition. …”

The Role of Exosomes in Cancer Progression and Therapy
Published 2025-01-01“…Interestingly, tumor-derived exosomes carry oncogenic molecules, such as proteins and microRNAs, which can reprogram recipient cells, promote angiogenesis, and stimulate cancer pre-metastatic niche, supporting cancer growth and metastasis. On the other hand, their biocompatibility, stability, and ability to cross biological barriers make them attractive candidates for drug delivery. …”

Molecular testing stratifies the risk of structural recurrence in high risk differentiated thyroid cancer: a retrospective cohort study
Published 2025-01-01“…Patients harboring mutations in the TERT promoter, TP53, or PIK3CA genes were categorized as the high molecular risk group, while all others were assigned to the non-high molecular risk group.ResultsAmong the 108 cases, 32 (29.6%) fell into the high molecular risk group, characterized by a significantly older mean age (57.8 vs. 42.6 years, p < 0.001), larger tumor size (3.1 cm vs. 2.0 cm, p = 0.003), a higher incidence of aggressive pathological subtypes (43.8% vs. 7.9%, p < 0.001), and an increased occurrence of distant metastasis (34.4% vs. 7.9%, p = 0.001). Over a median follow-up period of 32.5 months, this high-risk group demonstrated an elevated risk of local recurrence (32.1% vs. 9.5%, HR: 3.18, 95% CI: 1.15-8.78) and metachronous distant metastasis (38.1% vs. 2.9%, HR: 12.54, 95% CI: 2.60-60.41). …”
