CLEC11A-Driven Molecular Mechanisms in Intervertebral Disc Degeneration: A Comprehensive Multi-Omics Study by Jiang N, Wang Q, Hu Z, Tian X

    Published 2025-01-01
“…In vitro experiments demonstrated that overexpression of CLEC11A in nucleus pulposus cells significantly enhanced mRNA and protein expression of IVDD-related inflammatory markers; conversely, silencing CLEC11A markedly reduced these expressions. Similarly, overexpression of ARTN significantly increased, while knockdown decreased, the expression of these inflammatory markers in nucleus pulposus cells. Conclusion: Our integrative multi-omics analysis indicates that CLEC11A exacerbates IVDD by upregulating ARTN and inducing metabolic dysregulation, thereby amplifying the inflammatory pathways that drive disease progression. …”

Plasma circulating cell–free DNA integrity and relative telomere length as diagnostic biomarkers for Parkinson’s disease and multiple system atrophy: a cross-sectional study by Chao Ying, Chao Han, Yuan Li, Mingkai Zhang, Shuying Xiao, Lifang Zhao, Hui Zhang, Qian Yu, Jing An, Wei Mao, Yanning Cai

    Published 2025-12-01
“…The results showed that cell-free DNA integrity was significantly elevated in both Parkinson’s disease and multiple system atrophy patients compared with normal controls (P < 0.001 for both groups), whereas cell-free DNA relative telomere length was markedly shorter (P = 0.003 for Parkinson’s disease and P = 0.010 for multiple system atrophy). …”

Modulation of Acupuncture at Quchi (LI 11) and Waiguan (SJ 5) acupoints on LTP-like Plasticity by Qianqian SUN, Guo YU, Huitian ZHANG, Xiaokuo HE

    Published 2020-04-01
“…We used three laser pens to locate and mark with a soft-tipped pen to assure a constant placement of the coil throughout the session.②Detection of resting motor threshold (rMT): The response resting motor threshold (rMT) was defined as the stimulus intensity at which 5/10 consecutive single stimuli at the optimal sclap site evoked a MEP of at least 50 μV amplitude in the relaxed muscle.③Investigate the short-latency somatosensory-evoked potentials (SLSEP): Monophasic electrical stimulation adjusted to produce visible thumb twitch was delivered at points overlying the ulnar nerve at the right of FDI, through a bipolar electrode (cathode proximal) with intensity 5-10 mA.④Brain plasticity induced by PAS-LTP: The LTP-like plasticity induced by paired associative stimulation (PAS) consisted of 200 stimulus pairs of electrical stimulation followed by TMS. …”

Are Saudi Radiological Sciences Students Prepared for Emergencies? Exploring Knowledge, and Attitudes Towards Basic Life Support and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation by Alshamrani KM, Alkhayyat AA, Arif RN, Alahmadi AAS, Aldahery ST, Alsharif WM, Qurashi AA

    Published 2025-02-01
“…Descriptive statistics were generated, and chi-square test examined associations between categorical variables and Basic Life Support (BLS) training status. Results: Out of 367 students contacted, 261 participated (71.1% response rate). BLS training markedly enhances knowledge of the correct chest compression rate, with 50.9% of trained students demonstrating accurate understanding compared to 27.5% of untrained students (P < 0.0001). …”

Modeling future climate change impacts on sorghum (Sorghum bicolor) production with best management options in Amhara Region, Ethiopia by Adem Mohammed, Abebe Misganaw

    Published 2022-04-01
“…Historical daily weather data (1981–2010) of rainfall, maximum temperature, minimum temperature, and solar radiation were obtained from the nearest weather stations at Sirinka and Kombolcha while future climate date for 2030s and 2050s were downloaded from the ensemble of 17 CMIP5 GCM outputs run under RCP4.5 and RCP8.5 downscaled to the study sites using MarkSim. Different sowing dates, nitrogen rates, and supplemental irrigation were evaluated for their effectiveness to increase sorghum yield under the present and future climate conditions of the study area. …”
