Topology prediction for opportunistic network based on spatiotemporal convolution by Jian SHU, Jiawei SHI, Linlan LIU, Al-Kali Manar

Published 2023-03-01
“…The high dynamics of opportunistic network topology leads to the challenges of topology prediction. The existing research mainly focuses on the long-term spatiotemporal dependence of networks, ignoring the short-term spatiotemporal features.A topology prediction method for opportunistic network based on dynamic time warping algorithm and spatiotemporal convolution (DTW-STC) was proposed, which integrated long-short term spatiotemporal dependence in opportunistic network. The time slot was determined based on dynamic time warping algorithm, so that the opportunistic network was sliced into snapshots which topology was presented by link state matrix.Temporal convolution was employed to extract short-term temporal features. The spatiotemporal graph, representing the short-term spatiotemporal relationship, was constructed by temporal features and network changes. The short-term spatiotemporal features were captured by graph convolution. After stacks of spatiotemporal convolution, the long-short term spatiotemporal features of network were achieved.Based on the autoencoder structure, vector space transformation was realized, so that the future network topology was predicted. The results on three real opportunistic network datasets, ITC, MIT, and Asturias-er, show that the proposed DTW-STC has better prediction performance than ones of other baseline methods.…”

Published 2014-06-01
“…The second period was that of the maturity stage, when he published very seriously documented works, like Der Zusammenhang der rumänischen Landschaft mit dem rumänischen Volke, where the author underlines four main characteristics of this country and of its people – the marginality of the country and of its population in the European continent, the isolation of the Romanians as a consequence of the great migrations, the linguistic and ethnic homogeneity of the Romanians and the archaic characteristics of the Romanian civilization. …”

Corelli empfängt Lully. Über eine virtuelle Begegnung bei François Couperin by Johannes Menke

Published 2020-12-01

Influence of Goaf Location on Deformation of High-steep Hard Rock Slope by JI Lan, ZHAO Jianjun, WAN Xun, LI Qingmiao, WU Enge

Published 2022-01-01
“…Underground mining is one of the factors affecting slope deformation, and goaf location affects the degree of such deformation. In this paper,we summarize the structural characteristics of three mining slopes and corresponding goaf location, take the Yongsheng coal mine as the research object, and simulate the formation of the goaf during two times of mining with Particle Flow Code (PFC2D) to study the influence of the distance D (negative toward the inside of the slope) from the right boundary of the goaf to the slope shoulder on the deformation of high-steep hard rock slopes. The following observations can be drawn from the results:The settlement curve of the overburden rock in the goaf assumes an approximate “U” shape. The settlement range first remains unchanged and then expands as D increases. The lateral deformation of the overburden rock towards the free face is more obvious, and the disturbed range of the overburden rock gradually increases; as the second time of mining proceeds, the rock body in the steep cliff area rapidly deforms, and its deformation at D> -50 m is much larger than that at D≤-50 m.This study proposes that subsequent mining of the Yongsheng coal mine should meet D< -50 m.It also provides a reference for the mining interval in the case of such high-steep hard rock slopes.…”

Published 2009-02-01
“…Those of us who met the field of mathematical biology as a well-developed,flourishing, and rewarding discipline owe much to those who made it so.This special issue of Mathematical Biosciences and Engineering isdedicated to two such pioneers: Fred Brauer and Karl Hadeler.Since retrospectives of both men have been published in other venues [1, 2], we will only summarize their contributions briefly here.Fred Brauer obtained his Ph.D. from MIT in 1956 under Norman Levinson, and during a long tenure at the University of Wisconsin he co-wrote severaltexts on ordinary differential equations that have become classics. His research entered mathematical biology first through early studies inpredator-prey systems and harvesting, both with and without delays. He then moved into mathematical epidemiology, and the text he co-authoredwith Carlos Castillo-Chavez in both these areas earlier this decade isalready in wide use.For more information please click the “Full Text” above.…”
