αAsarone alleviates neuronal injury by facilitating autophagy via miR-499-5p/PDCD4/ATG5 signaling pathway in ischemia stroke by Yonghuan Yan, Linfang Wu, Lu Wang, Dandan Wang, Mengting Huang, Jinyong Peng, Jinyong Peng, Yingying Huang, Yingying Huang, Yingying Huang

    Published 2025-01-01
“…However, its mechanism of action remains poorly understood.MethodsThe effects of αAsarone on autophagy were examined by WB, RT-qPCR, immunofluorescence colocalization, transmission electron microscope, and autophagic flux activity was measured by infecting HT22 cells with mRFP-GFP-LC3 adenovirus. And then, cells were transfected with both mimic-miR-499-5p and inhibit-miR-499-5p to investigate the role of miR-499-5p in regulating the effects of αAsarone on stroke. …”

Photospheric Swirls in a Quiet-Sun Region by Quan Xie, Jiajia Liu, Chris J. Nelson, Robert Erdélyi, Yuming Wang

    Published 2025-01-01
“…Using the Automated Swirl Detection Algorithm, we identified swirls from the high-resolution photospheric observations, centered on Fe i 630.25 nm, of a quiet region near the Sun's central meridian by the Swedish 1-m Solar Telescope. Via a detailed study of the locations of the detected small-scale swirls with an average radius of  ~300 km, we found that most of them are located in lanes between mesogranules (which have an average diameter of  ~5.4 Mm) instead of the commonly believed intergranular lanes. …”

Porto Alegre Line predicts lenticulostriate arteries encasement and extent of resection in insular gliomas. A preliminary study by Gustavo Rassier Isolan, Gustavo Rassier Isolan, Gustavo Rassier Isolan, Samir Ale Bark, Samir Ale Bark, Jander Moreira Monteiro, Jander Moreira Monteiro, Tobias A. Mattei, Kaan Yağmurlu, Rafaela Fernandes Gonçalves, Rafaela Fernandes Gonçalves, Osvaldo Malafaia, Rafael Roesler, Rafael Roesler, Rafael Roesler, Jurandir Marcondes Ribas Filho

    Published 2025-02-01
“…In cases with no assumed LSTa involvement, the parameter used to stop resection was the confirmation of the corticospinal tract with 10-mA stimulus. The resection limit of tumors placed medially to the Porto Alegre line was intraoperative direct LSTa visualization.ResultsThe LSTa involvement was the most critical medial limiting factor in more aggressive tumor resection and an excellent overall survival (P = 0.022). …”

Clinical value of soluble urokinase-type plasminogen activator receptor in predicting sepsis-associated acute kidney injury by Wenwen Zhang, Yue Gu, Jing Zhou, Juntao Wang, Xiaoru Zhao, Xiaoyu Deng, Han Li, Lei Yan, Xiaojing Jiao, Fengmin Shao

    Published 2024-12-01
“…The plasma suPAR had the highest area under the ROC curve of 0.700 (95% confidence interval (CI), 0.621–0.779) at 24-h post-sepsis diagnosis, at which the best discrimination ability for S-AKI was achieved with suPAR of ≥6.31 ng/mL (sensitivity 61.9% and specificity 71.6%). Logistic regression analysis showed that suPAR at 24-h post-sepsis diagnosis remained an independent S-AKI risk factor after adjusting for mechanical ventilation, blood urea nitrogen, and pH.Conclusions The findings suggest that plasma suPAR may be a potential biomarker for early S-AKI diagnosis.…”
