An Experimental Study on Mechanical Properties and Fracture Characteristics of Saturated Concrete under Coupling Effect of Low Temperature and Dynamic Load by Mengxiang Wang, Qi Zong, Haibo Wang

    Published 2022-01-01
“…Low temperature can improve the impact resistance of saturated concrete, which is consistent with the failure law of natural state concrete. The water-saturated low-temperature state of the concrete void is filled with ice crystal particles; for low-temperature water-saturated concrete in the impact of the dynamic load, the microstructure is affected by the ice crystal structure which is not easy to change; the specimen along the axial force direction microdefect development produces a crack, the crack along the parallel to the pressure direction of cracking, through the two ends of the specimen, and finally produces axial splitting tensile damage. …”

Predicting the critical drainage induced by soil seepage failure during pumping in foundation pit construction by Fuwei JIANG, Shujun TANG, Xiaofei DENG, Zhenchao LI, Fawang ZHANG, Hongyuan YIN

    Published 2025-01-01
“…However, the critical pumping quantity is a key parameter for pumping safety in foundation pit construction and there is no effective method to calculate or test this parameter. Based on Darcy’s law and the equivalent infinitesimal formula, and the formula for calculating the permeability coefficient of pumping tests recommended by the specification for borehole pumping test of hydropower projects (NB/T 35103—2017), this study deduced the expressions of critical pumping quantity of the seepage failure under four conditions, including submersible incomplete hole, submersible integral hole, confined water incomplete hole and confined water integral hole. …”
