The impact of the coupling relationship between projectile size and yarn dimension on the ballistic performance of plain weave fabric by Kaiying Wang, Xuan Zhou, Wenke Ren, Yiding Wu, Yilei Yu, Yi Zhou, Lizhi Xu, Guangfa Gao

    Published 2025-01-01
“…Taking plain weave aramid fabric as the research object, considering different diameter projectiles, through a large number of ballistic impact tests and numerical simulations, parameters such as ballistic limit velocity, average energy absorption of fabric, and specific energy absorption ratio (average energy absorption of fabric divided by projectile cross-sectional area) are obtained for ballistic performance analysis. The influence law of projectile size on the ballistic performance of high-performance fabrics is as follows: The relative range of fitted ballistic limit velocity at different target positions gradually decreases and then stabilizes as the projectile diameter increases, indicating that the fabric structure effect gradually disappears at a projectile diameter of 12 mm; The average ballistic limit velocity at three impact positions, P1, P2, and P3, provides the corresponding ballistic limit velocity for 1000D aramid fabric, which increases with projectile diameter but the rate of increase slows down at an inflection point, which in this study occurs where the fabric structure effect nearly disappears at a projectile diameter of 12 mm; The energy absorption ratio increases and then decreases as the projectile diameter increases from 4 mm to 20 mm, reaching a peak at the diameter of 12 mm due to the gradual disappearance of the fabric structural effect. …”

MINIMIZATION OF RISK OF THE ERRONEOUS DECISION IN THE ASSESSMENT OF THE IMPORTANCE OF STATISTICAL RELATIONS OF TECHNICAL AND ECONOMIC INDICATORS OF THE OBJECTS OF ELECTRIC POWER SY... by E. M. Farhadzadeh, A. Z. Muradaliyev, Yu. Z. Farzaliyev, T. K. Rafiyeva, S. A. Abdullayeva

    Published 2018-05-01
“…This method implicitly assumes that the consequences of a Type I error significantly exceed the consequences of Type II errors, and the distribution of correlation coefficients corresponds to the normal law. Therefore, the risk of an erroneous decision concerning the absence of a significant statistical relation is not controlled. …”

Pasting and Dough Rheological Properties of Ackee (Blighia sapida) Aril Flour: A Contribution to the Search for Wheat Flour Substitutes by Ramiro Torres-Gallo, Ricardo Durán, José García-Camargo, Oswaldo Morales, Diofanor Acevedo, Diego F. Tirado

    Published 2021-01-01
“…Pasting properties (pasting temperature, peak viscosity, ease of cooking, swelling power, final viscosity at 50  °C, and thixotropy) were analyzed; and steady-state shear measurements were used to obtain consistency coefficients (K) and flow behavior indexes (n) after data was fitted to the Power Law and Herschel-Bulkley models. The gradual addition of the ackee aril flour fraction produced an increase in ash, fat, protein, and fiber content; while water and carbohydrate content showed the opposite behavior in the obtained composite flour. …”
