Analysis and improvement of route switch in IEEE 802.11s by Bo YOU, Yue-peng YAN

    Published 2012-09-01
“…Analyzed the route switch of hybrid wireless mesh protocol(HWMP)in IEEE 802.11s and made an improve-ment to reduce the packet lost rate when routes switching was analyzed.Based on the received signal strength indica-tor(RSSI)a scheme with judgment threshold in mesh peer link management protocol was proposed, which controlled the status of peer link to change the timing of route switch. In this way,the packet lost was avoided. The experimental results show that the improvement reduces the packet lost rate by 2%~5% compared with traditional IEEE 802.11s in uncon-trolled wireless environment when nodes moving in low speed.…”

LQG control-aware resource scheduling method for IEEE 802.11ax networks by Meng ZHENG, Lei ZHANG, Wei LIANG

    Published 2024-03-01
“…Due to the advantages in low cost, ease of maintenance and license-exempt spectrum, etc, IEEE 802.11ax is widely adopted in industrial control applications. For a wireless networked control system based on IEEE 802.11ax, a control-aware resource scheduling method was proposed to support the wireless high-speed control of multiple control systems.Firstly, considering the packet dropout problem of sensing data in IEEE 802.11ax, the optimal state estimator and the linear quadratic Gaussian (LQG) control of the studied control system were given.Secondly, the dependency between the LQG performance and the transmission reliability of IEEE 802.11ax was analyzed, the expected LQG performance minimization problem of resource scheduling was formulated, and further, an LQG control-aware resource scheduling (LCARS) method was proposed. Finally, the effectiveness of the LCARS method was demonstrated via extensive simulations.LCARS can be applied to smart factory applications including navigation of automated guided vehicles, remote control of robots and so on.…”

IEEE 802.11 WLAN analytical model for M2M small data service by WANG Ya-hui, CHI Xue-fen

    Published 2011-01-01
“…Machine to machine(M2M) communications had a huge potential market.Wireless local area network(WLAN) as the main complement for 3G networks would carry a lot of M2M services.Considering the characteristics of typical M2M small data service which was delay tolerant and retry patient,a large time-scale backoff algorithm was proposed in the network model of IEEE 802.11 DCF.MAC layer service time probability distribution was derived, and IPP/G/1/K discrete-time queuing model was established in order to analyze the QoS performance of M2M under unsaturated traffic condition and imperfect channel in the WLAN.Simulation results indicate that the proposed algorithm effectively enhances system throughput and reduces system blocking rate.…”

Schedule-aware power management for energy-efficiency improvement in IEEE 802.11u WLAN by Di ZHANG

    Published 2019-08-01
“…A mobile terminal supporting the IEEE 802.11u standard can automatically access a wireless local area network within the coverage of a network service provided by a wireless local area network.Aiming at the characteristics of IEEE 802.11u WLAN,a time series sensing based PSM (S-PSM) scheme was proposed. The transmission sequence information was broadcasted using a generic advertisement service (GAS) defined in the IEEE 802.11u standard, and all terminals controlled their own operating states according to the sequence information. In order to reduce the collision probability of the contention channel,a response contention window was introduced. When there was no data packet in the access point (AP),the AP broadcasted the GAS frame and activated the idle timer. All terminals went to sleep until the idle timer expires. The simulation results show that compared with the proposed traditional PSM,the scheme can significantly reduce power consumption and improve terminal energy-efficiency.…”
