Study on the Annual Variation Characteristics of Runoff in Yunnan
Published 2021-01-01“…To study the annual variation characteristics of runoff in Yunnan Province and analyze the main influencing factors, based on the observed monthly and annual rainfall and runoff data of 9 representative hydrological stations in 6 major river basins in Yunnan from 1956 to 2016,this paper analyzes the annual runoff distribution in terms of the uniformity, concentration and relative variation range. The research shows that:①The uniformity coefficient (Cu) of runoff distribution in many years ranges from 0.55 to 1.21,and the concentration (Cn) ranges from 0.23 to 0.66,so the runoff is unevenly distributed in the whole province.②The Cu and Cn decrease in general.Especially after 2000,the annual distribution of runoff shows a trend of uniformity.③The runoff concentration is relatively high in the Yangtze River Basin and the Honghe River Basin, and the annual runoff distribution is flat in the Lancang River Basin and the Zhujiang River Basin.④The uniformity trend of annual runoff distribution is closely related to human activities in the basin.…”

Analysis of Spatio-temporal Evolution of Land Use and Landscape Pattern in Liuxi River Basin Driven by Rapid Urbanization
Published 2020-01-01“…Since the implementation of the policy of reform and opening up,the dramatic evolution of land use and landscape pattern in basins has been brought about by the rapid development of urbanization, threatening the health of its natural eco-hydrological environment.Taking Liuxi River basin in Guangzhou as research object, this paper uses the land use transition matrix and landscape pattern indexes to analyze the spatio-temporal evolution of land use types and landscape pattern based on the land use data of different years from 1980 to 2015.The results show that:①The arable land, which is one of the dominant landscape in Liuxi River basin, was greatly converted to construction land and gradually fragmented and homogenized, resulting in the fragmentation and homogenization of landscape pattern in whole basin;②The dramatic changes of land use types and landscape pattern mainly occurred in the middle and lower reaches, especially during the period from 2000 to 2010;③The rapid growth of total population and the increase of proportion of tertiary industry were main urbanization indicators for the conversion of arable land into construction land.…”

Health Assessment of the Lower Reaches of Longhe River under Watershed Systematic Treatment
Published 2022-01-01“…River health assessment is the basis for watershed planning, systematic treatment, and ecological restoration. The lower reaches of the Longhe River in Langfang suffer fragile ecology and lack water fluidity, showing a poor water environment. To accurately assess the ecological health of rivers severely disturbed by human activities and identify the fragility factors in the ecosystem,we construct a health assessment index system for the Longhe River based on the analytic hierarchy process (AHP).The river health assessment index system consists of five aspects:hydrological integrity, physical structural integrity, chemical integrity, biological integrity, and social function integrity. The Langfang section of Longhe River is generally in a healthy state with a health assessment score of 75.18.According to the assessment results, the Longhe River watershed has problems such as large development and utilization of water resources, low wetland retention rate, serious artificial disturbance in the riparian zone, and poor quality of the upstream water. The proposed assessment method could provide a reference for the health assessment of rivers under severe artificial control.…”

Flood Forecasting for Small Reservoirs Based on Neural Networks
Published 2023-01-01“…In flood forecasting, empirical prediction methods report low accuracy, and traditional hydrological models face the problems of large workloads and difficult promotion when they are applied to small reservoirs.Hence,an artificial neural network (ANN) method is introduced, which is equipped with powerful feature-learning capability. It is combined with the genetic algorithm (GA) to find the optimal parameters for flood forecasting of small reservoirs as GA can realize automatic optimization of the time step and hidden-layer neuron nodes in ANN.In this way, parameter search can be targeted, and personalized flood forecasting models can be constructed for each small reservoir. In addition, the flood forecasting models based on the back propagation (BP),long short-term memory (LSTM),and gated recurrent unit (GRU) neural networks are built, and comparisons between simulations and measured data are conducted for the flood process. The results show that the LSTM model has high prediction accuracy and good stability and can learn and simulate the water-level change pattern of the actual flood process, demonstrating better prediction performance than BP and GRU models.…”

Spatial and Temporal Variation Characteristics of Drought in Guizhou Province Based on VCI and Division of Arid Regions
Published 2021-01-01“…Due to its unique dual hydrological structure of surface water and groundwater and typical karst low mountain and hilly landform area, the agricultural ecological environment of Guizhou Province is extremely fragile, and it is prone to agricultural disasters caused by meteorological factors, leading to reduced agricultural production. This paper calculates the VCI of Guizhou Province from 2001 to 2018 by remote sensing technology, explores the agricultural drought situation in Guizhou Province, divides the spatial distribution of seasonal arid regions in Guizhou Province with ArcGIS spatial overlay analysis, and analyzes the VCI trend characteristics of Guizhou Province through the unary linear trend method. The results show that:①The seasonal and inter-annual VCI in Guizhou Province generally show a downward trend, most obviously in karst areas, followed by non-karst areas;②Guizhou Province's seasonal droughts are mainly spring and winter droughts, and dry karst areas is a drought-prone area;③The drought time characteristics of Guizhou Province are mainly seasonal continuous drought and three-season continuous drought.…”

Grey Prediction of Mountainous Runoff of Datengxia Based on R/S Analysis
Published 2022-01-01“…Grey prediction model has been widely used in studies on surface hydrological series, but it has not been mentioned in studies on the mountainous runoff of Datengxia.According to the annual measured data of mountainous runoff of Datengxia from 1932 to 2021,the GM (1,1) grey prediction model is established first. Then R/S analysis is carried out to calculate the Hurst index and the average cycle period T of the mountainous runoff series of Datengxia. After that, the grey prediction of the mountainous runoff of Datengxia is performed within a cycle T based on R/S-GM (1,1) model. The results show that the cycle period T of the mountainous runoff of Datengxia is nine years, and the model accuracy of GM (1,1) and R/S-GM (1,1) models is 84.38% and 87.46%,respectively,with a prediction accuracy of 86.28% and 92.54%,respectively.The grey prediction accuracy of R/S-GM (1,1) model is significantly higher than that of GM (1,1) model. This method has provided a new method for scientifically predicting the mountainous runoff of Datengxia.…”
