Le nivellement des aqueducs de Lyon et leurs aménagements de régulation et de ralentissement : analyse et mise en perspective by Laetitia Borau

    Published 2023-12-01
“…In addition, a decision had to be made about the type of canal to be built, as this would affect the speed of construction and hence the overall cost of the project, but would also affect ease of maintenance: we can therefore distinguish between the simplest cases –slab-covered concrete canals– and conduits with masonry walls and a vaulted roof through which a maintenance man could walk. The objective here is to put into perspective, on the one hand, the means employed to guarantee a constant slope and to control the flows (regulation and maintenance structures), and on the other hand to overcome the obstacles, particularly the steep slopes (with chutes or dropshafts) and to compare them with other aqueducts in the Roman world, mainly in the western part. The examination of the four conduits demonstrated the small number of regulation and/or decantation structures found across the whole of the Lyon hydraulic network, with three exceptions. …”

    Published 2025-01-01
“…This is at least partially a consequence of limited multiwavelength follow-up of this class of transients in real time. Here we present deep optical ( g - and i -band) photometry with Keck, and prompt radio observations with the Very Large Array of FXT 210423 obtained at δ t ≈ 14–36 days since the X-ray trigger. …”

Apaf-1 is an evolutionarily conserved DNA sensor that switches the cell fate between apoptosis and inflammation by Jie Ruan, Xuxia Wei, Suizhi Li, Zijian Ye, Linyi Hu, Ru Zhuang, Yange Cao, Shaozhou Wang, Shengpeng Wu, Dezhi Peng, Shangwu Chen, Shaochun Yuan, Anlong Xu

    Published 2025-01-01
“…Although Apaf-1 structurally resembles animal NOD-like receptor (NLR) and plant resistance (R) proteins, whether it is directly involved in innate immunity is still largely unknown. Here, we found that Apaf-1-like molecules from lancelets, fruit flies, mice, and humans have conserved DNA sensing functionality. …”

    Published 2025-01-01
“…Abstract: Despite the use of midostaurin (MIDO) with intensive chemotherapy (ICT) as frontline treatment for Fms-like tyrosine kinase 3 (FLT3)-mutated acute myeloid leukemia (AML), complete remission rates are close to 60% to 70%, and relapses occur in >40% of cases. Here, we studied the molecular mechanisms underlying refractory/relapsed (R/R) disease in patients with FLT3-mutated AML. …”
