miR‐130a‐3p regulated TGF‐β1‐induced epithelial‐mesenchymal transition depends on SMAD4 in EC‐1 cells
Published 2019-03-01“…The effect of miR‐130a‐3p and SMAD4 in TGF‐β‐induced migration, invasion in the ESCC cell line EC‐1 was investigated by wound healing assays and Transwell assays. Here we found that knocked down SMAD4 could partially reverse TGF‐β‐induced migration, invasion, and EMT progression in the ESCC cell line EC‐1. miR‐130a‐3p, which directly targets SMAD4, is down‐regulated in ESCC. miR‐130a‐3p inhibits the migration and invasion of EC‐1 cells both in vitro and in vivo. …”

Les techniques de construction du second forum de Bavay (Nord) : utilisation, origine et datation des matériaux en terre cuite
Published 2019-12-01“…The remains from the forum of Bavay (Nord) demonstrate the use of terracotta, bricks and tiles. Here, we attempt to characterize those remains, determine their origin and quantity, as well as their role in the economy and the construction of the site. The forum is among the largest in the provinces of the Empire, and it is also one of the rare sites to be almost entirely unearthed by excavations that began at the beginning of the 20th c. and are still ongoing today. …”

Serine/threonine protein kinase mediates rifampicin resistance in Brucella melitensis through interacting with ribosomal protein RpsD and affecting antioxidant capacity
Published 2025-01-01“…Recently, an increasing number of rifampicin-resistant Brucella strains have been isolated worldwide without detectable mutations in known antibiotic resistance genes. Here, this study identified the deletion of serine/threonine protein kinase (STPK) gene in B. melitensis as an efficient trigger for rifampicin resistance using bioinformatics predictions, a transposon mutant library, and gene mutation strains. …”

Trial protocol of an open-label pilot study of oral naltrexone–bupropion combination pharmacotherapy for the treatment of methamphetamine use disorder (the NABU trial)
Published 2025-02-01“…One recent randomised controlled trial conducted in the USA examined a combination of bupropion and naltrexone not readily available globally. Here, we report a trial protocol for an oral formulation of combined naltrexone and bupropion. Methods and analysis This single-arm, open-label pilot study will assess the safety and feasibility of oral naltrexone and bupropion (40 mg/450 mg daily in divided doses) in adults with methamphetamine use disorder. …”

Acetyl-CoA synthesis in the skin is a key determinant of systemic lipid homeostasis
Published 2025-02-01“…Summary: ATP-citrate lyase (ACLY) generates cytosolic acetyl-coenzyme A (acetyl-CoA) for lipid synthesis and is a promising therapeutic target in diseases with altered lipid metabolism. Here, we developed inducible whole-body Acly-knockout mice to determine the requirement for ACLY in normal tissue functions, uncovering its crucial role in skin homeostasis. …”

Mountain sentinels in a changing world: Review and conservation implications of weather and climate effects on mountain goats (Oreamnos americanus)
Published 2025-01-01“…As sentinels of change in alpine ecosystems, the study of mountain goats offers insight into the ecological effects and conservation challenges associated with climate change in these sensitive and biodiverse environments. Here, we synthesize existing knowledge about how climate change is expected to influence environmental conditions experienced by mountain goats and associated mechanistic changes to behavior, nutritional ecology, demography, health, and interspecific interactions. …”

Unveiling the Mechanisms of a Remission in Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)-like Syndrome: The Role of Hippocampal Palmitoyltransferase Expression and Stress Susceptibility
Published 2025-01-01“…However, recent studies suggested a role for the downregulation of palmitoyl acetyltransferase (DHHC) 21 gene expression in the development of Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)-like syndrome. Here, we sought to investigate how susceptibility (sucrose preference below 65%) or resilience (sucrose preference > 65%) to stress-induced anhedonia affects DHHC gene expression in the hippocampus of C57BL/6J mice during the phase of spontaneous recovery from anhedonia. …”
