Numerical Simulation Study on Influence of Rock Mass Mechanical Parameters on Stability of Anti-dip Slope by CAI Guojun, CHEN Xirui, YIN Baoguo, SUN Wenpeng, CHENG Yuhang, ZHOU Yang, ZHAO Da′an, JIA Jun

    Published 2020-01-01
“…Taking the anti-dip slope of Caizi dam in Lueyang County in southern Qinling as an example, this paper studies the effect of physical and mechanical parameters (such as tensile strength, joint stiffness, internal friction angle and cohesion) of rock mass on slope stability by discrete element software UDEC,and calculates safety factor based on discrete element strength reduction method. It can be concluded from the comparison of the displacement and deformation failure caused by the three parameters:Although the tensile strength has a limited effect on the stability of the anti-dip slope,as the tensile strength is greatly reduced, the slope instability will increase; The reasonable selection of joint stiffness plays an important role in the bending deformation of the structural surface which can affect the slope stability; As the internal friction angle and cohesion decrease, the potential damage range of the slope gradually increases. In addition, the effect of the three parameters on the toppling deformation is as follows:internal friction angle and cohesion>joint stiffness>tensile strength.…”
