Application,Challenges, and Prospect of Machine Learning in Dam Seepage Prediction by WANG Wei, LIAO Jielin, ZHU Shaokun

    Published 2024-01-01
“…The adverse effects of seepage will increase the dam failure risk, and applying machine learning to accurate seepage prediction is crucial to dam safety and stability. This paper reviews the application, challenges, and solutions of machine learning in dam seepage prediction.Machine learning can not only predict the seepage behavior of dams but also identify some key parameters such as dam permeability coefficient and groundwater level in seepage prediction.Artificial neural networks, support vector machines, and decision trees have been widely employed in seepage prediction of dams.Integrated algorithms greatly improve prediction accuracy by integrating the advantages of multiple algorithms.Machine learning models still have many shortcomings in data quantity and quality, model interpretability, complexity, scalability, deployment, and implementation.Future research directions include developing advanced machine learning algorithms, creating physics data dual-drive models and interpretable models, and enhancing experimental testing and validation. The relevant achievements can provide references for studying dam seepage prediction based on machine learning models.…”

Prediction Research of Water Demand Probability Interval in Liuzhou City Based on BP Neural Network by ZHANG Zhibo

    Published 2021-01-01
“…Water demand prediction is of great importance for regional water resources planning. In this paper,BP neural network is primarily applied to predict the water demand of Liuzhou in 2020 and 2025,and then 100 groups of forecast results are selected for statistically frequency distribution analysis in the case of the relative error of prediction results being less than 2%.The results show that the prediction results of Liuzhou obey normal distribution in 2020 and mildly positively skewed distribution in 2025.Moreover,combining the prediction results of Liuzhou in 2025 which are converted to normal distribution by SPSS,and the interval estimation of normal distribution, the prediction interval of Liuzhou water demand,i.e.2.147 8~2.162 2 billion m3 in 2020 and 2.181 3~2.202 3 billion m3 in 2025 is obtained under the condition of 95% confidence level. The research has certain theoretical and instructional significance for Liuzhou water resources planning in the future.…”

Hybrid k-anonymity approach based on TDS and BUG under the environment of big data cloud by Xiaofeng FAN, Feng YAN, Yang LIU

    Published 2016-07-01
“…As the issue of low efficiency and poor scalability in general sub-tree anonymous method of treating big data,a bottom-up generalization(BUG) method with scalability was proposed, and on this basis, combined with the existing top-down specialization(TDS),a hybrid approach was formed. In the proposed method,k-anonymity was being as a privacy model, the compositions of TDS and BUG were developed with mapping simplification, and higher scalability through powerful cloud computing capabilities were achieved. The proposed mapping simplification BUG could insert a new candidate after several cycles of generalization, and would not affect information loss of another generalization.Given the complexity of the relationship between workload balancing point K and anonymous parameter k,mapping simplifications of BUG and TDS were combined to form a hybrid approach.Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method and compared with TDS and BUG,the efficiency and scalability of hybrid method are greatly improved.…”

Network quality and user perception improvement of high-speed rail scene by Songbai LIANG, Yingwu GUO, Xinwei LI

    Published 2021-03-01
“…In view of the difficulty in improving the quality of mobile network in high-speed railway scenes and the poor efficiency of conventional methods, a methodology system for improving the perception of mobile communication users was explored in traffic trunk lines, especially in high-speed railway scenes. The methodology system was based on handover chain optimization with the core idea of “primary covering, reasonable reselection and orderly switching”.It adopted a three-layer theoretical structure include covering control firstly, then parameter optimization, and feature loading last.It used idle state and service state data pull graph correlation to determine problem road sections and cells, match the delay parameters of high-speed mobile scenes, load service quality and perception characteristics, and greatly improved the high-speed railway network quality and user perception. This method started from the principle analysis, with practical application, it could effectively solve the network problems, which could be fully extended to other linear scenes.…”
