New TDOA algorithm based on Taylor series expansion in cellular networks by ZHANG Ling-wen, TAN Zhen-hui

    Published 2007-01-01
“…TDOA is the most potential positioning technique in cellular mobile telecommunication systems.Taylor series expansion method has been widely used in solving nonlinear equations for its high accuracy and good robustness. However, the performance of Taylor’s method depends highly on the initial estimation. Therefore one new algorithm(HOA,hybrid optimizing algorithm) was proposed which combines the Taylor series expansion method with steepest decent method.Steepest decent method is with the properties of fast convergence at the initial iterativeness and small computation complexity.HOA takes great advantages of both methods.Simulation results show that HOA has achieved better performance on positioning accuracy and efficiency.…”

Le Saint-Siège et les élites en Extrême-Orient : la création des universités catholiques de Pékin et de Tokyo, Fu-jen et Sophia (1908-1936) by Olivier Sibre

    Published 2011-01-01
“…The foundation of the universities Furen in Beijing and Sophia in Tokyo expresses the will of the Holy See to convert the elites of the westernized Far East, and to give to these institutions a real universal dimension, catholic, in front of the tensions between the missionary institutes and congregations, but also in front of the cultural et political strategies of the great powers towards the Christians missions. The comparative study of the two foundations from the end of the XIXth century to the beginning of the 1930’s try to bring out the different factors which influence the pontifical initiative within a “polycratic” government and a complex institution, while the popes describe their magister as a suprema et plena potestas.…”

Research on performance optimizations for TCM-KNN network anomaly detection algorithm by LI Yang1, GUO Li1, LU Tian-bo3, TIAN Zhi-hong1

    Published 2009-01-01
“…Based on TCM-KNN(transductive confidence machine for K-nearest neighbors) algorithm, the filter-based feature selection and cluster-based instance selection methods were used towards optimizing it as a lightweight network anomaly detection scheme, which not only reduced its complex feature space, but also acquired high quality instances for training.A series of experimental results demonstrate the two methods for optimizations are actually effective in greatly reducing the computational costs while ensuring high detection performances for TCM-KNN algorithm. Therefore, the two methods make TCM-KNN be a good scheme for a lightweight network anomaly detection in practice.…”
