A Multi-Disciplinary Review of Current Sea-Level Rise Research in Florida by Anna Cathey Linhoss, Lisa Gardner Chambers, Kevin Wozniak, Tom Ankersen

    Published 2013-02-01
“…Sea-level rise is an issue of paramount importance for the state of Florida due to its lengthy coastline, low relief, high coastal population density, ecologically and economically vital beaches, estuaries, and wetlands, and porous limestone geology. The rate of sea-level rise in Florida generally follows the global average (~3 mm per year) and is slowly gaining public attention as a significant threat to the natural and socioeconomic future of the state. …”

Application and Comparison of Civil 3D and Revit in Hydraulic Building Modeling by SHU Yuren, QIU Zhenfeng, WANG Junjie

    Published 2023-01-01
“…Both Civil 3D and Revit are building information modeling (BIM) software, and they can obtain different results when adopted to model hydraulic buildings.Civil 3D and Revit were used to model the dam hub project of Miaotang Reservoir Project in Wushan County,Chongqing, and the advantages and disadvantages of the two modeling methods were compared and analyzed in terms of their efficiency, accuracy, and quantity statistics in modeling upstream and downstream rockfill areas, core walls, spillways, and geology. The results show that Civil 3D has higher modeling efficiency and model accuracy when applied to the hydraulic dam and can be easily operated compared with Revit. It can provide a reference for similar engineering BIM methods.…”

Mine Flooding History of a Regional Below-Drainage Coalfield Dominated by Barrier Leakage (1970–2014) by Joseph J. Donovan, Eric F. Perry

    Published 2019-01-01
“…It may be concluded that the progress of mine flooding was influenced by mining history and design, by the timing of closures, by barrier leakage conditions, and by geologic structure. A key element in how flooding proceeded was the presence of a series of intact barriers separating deep from shallow mines. …”

Hydrochemical assessment of borehole water in Effurun, Delta state Niger Delta, Nigeria: implications for public health and safety by Odunayo Tope Ojo, Chiaka Joy Ike, Adegoke Ige Aladeboyeje, Olayiwola Grace Olaseeni, Olumuyiwa Femi Adewumi

    Published 2025-02-01
“…Spatial analysis revealed varying ion concentrations across Effurun, with higher calcium and magnesium levels near water bodies, suggesting local geology's influence. The central area exhibited moderate ion concentrations, while the southeastern region had the highest calcium levels, possibly due to geological formations rich in calcium or human activities. …”
