Research on Anti-seepage Curtain Layout of a Deep Foundation Pit near the Levee by WANG Xuehong, LIU Xiaoqing, ZHANG Hui, WANG Xin, YAO Lu

    Published 2021-01-01
“…A deep foundation pit project is located in the east of the levee at Yangzhou section of the Grand Canal. There are silt soil and silt sand layers in the bottom of the foundation pit within excavation depth, which is prone to seepage accidents, threatening the safety of the levee.Based on MIDAS GTS,this paper establishes a three-dimensional finite element simulation model according to the geological survey data, discusses the seepage situation of each excavation stage before and after adding curtain and with different lateral curtain width in detail, and analyzes the relationship between lateral curtain width and levee and foundation pit.The results show that:The seepage gradient of the two corners of the foundation pit near the levee is the largest without curtain, and the seepage damage is easy to occur near the two corners; The seepage gradient at the bottom of the intermediate curtain will slightly increase with the increase of the lateral curtain width; From the technical and economic point of view, the seepage prevention effect is obvious when the lateral curtain width is 17 m;The seepage gradient at the bottom of the intermediate curtain and at the end of the lateral curtain is large which should be paid close attention to.The research results provide an empirical reference for similar projects.…”

Regression Analysis of Initial Geostress Field for Deep-Buried Tunnel of Water Resources Allocation Project in Guangdong Province around the Beibu Gulf by DAI Zhikun, ZHENG Xiao, YOU Siqin

    Published 2023-01-01
“…Geostress has important influence on the surrounding rock of the deep-buried tunnel during its construction.Accurately identifying the initial geostress of the engineering area can effectively guide the design and construction of the tunnel. In order to study the distribution of initial geostress in the deeply buried tunnel area of water resources allocation project in Guangdong Province around the Beibu Gulf,a three-dimensional geological model was established via the finite difference software FLAC3D,by reference to the geoengineering conditions and measured data on geostress, with the relevant analysis and calculation conducted under the separate effects of each factor concerning the initial geostress field. And the a multiple regression model between measured and calculated values was established to work out the optimal regression coefficient through multiple regression analysis, thus obtaining the regression equation of geostress.By comparing the regression values and the measured values,it is found that the magnitude and direction of the two values are close to each other, indicating that the initial geostress field established by regression analysis is reasonable and can provide effective basic data for subsequent evaluation of the stability of surrounding rock of the tunnel, support design and long-term safety evaluation and prediction.…”

    Published 2016-01-01
“…In this study, XANES technology was used to examine changes in S speciation in the sediments collected from Taihu Lake, Qinghai Lake, Dianchi Lake, Caohai Lake, and Hongfeng Lake located in distinct geological background areas of China. The results showed that sedimentary S in Qinghai Lake has a high proportion of sulfate averaged 88.9% due to physical weathering of watershed rocks, while deposited S in Taihu Lake has a high fraction of intermediate S (36.5%), which may be the response of the agricultural nonpoint source pollution in drainage basin. …”

    Published 2021-01-01
“…Results show the following: (1) Rock-socketed depths have boundary effect on end-suspended piles. Under the given geological conditions, the reasonable socketed ratio is within 0.158∼0.200. (2) The anchor cable prestress can effectively slow down the ground settlement, the force, and deformation of the pile body and can be set to 1P∼1.25P under the conditions of the site. (3) Rock-shoulder width has little influence on the ground settlement and horizontal displacement of piles. …”
