Modified GIC Estimation Using 3‐D Earth Conductivity
Published 2020-08-01“…We estimate that the proposed modified 3‐D GIC modeling approach produces GIC values that are well within 50% of those obtained with the full‐scale power line integration of spatially variable geoelectric fields, for storms comparable in scale to the 2003 Halloween storm, all geological structures, and power lines located in the contiguous United States and other low‐ to middle‐latitude regions.…”

Tectonic relationships between the Paleozoic basement and the Mesozoic cover succession in the northern Dora-Maira Massif (Susa Valley, Western Alps)
Published 2025-12-01“…The northernmost sector of the Dora-Maira Massif is a key area for studying the role of basement-cover detachment zones as markers for understanding the multistage tectonic evolution of orogenic belts. The 1:5,000 scale geological map highlights the tectonic relationships between the Paleozoic basement and Mesozoic cover successions, which are separated by the Bussoleno Detachment Shear Zone, representing the basement-cover interface, and are tectonically overlain by the ophiolite-bearing Foresto Shear Zone. …”

Evaluation of Slope Stability Based on Fuzzy Mathematics with Combination Weighting Method of Game Theory
Published 2021-01-01“…In order to accurately evaluate the stability of the slope and reduce the risk of landslides, taking the Jiangjiatang slope project in Xingshan,Hubei as an example, this paper selects four first-level indexes namely topography and geomorphology, geological structure, rock and soil properties, and occurrence environment and 16 second-level indexes including slope height, joint development, internal friction angle, and atmospheric rainfall to establish a fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model, weights the slope stability evaluation index system by the combination weighting method of game theory based on the analytic hierarchy process and entropy weight method, and obtains the final weight value of the evaluation index by solving the model. The results show that the index weights obtained by the combination weighting method of game theory are between those calculated by the subjective and objective weighting methods, and the evaluation results of slope stability are consistent with the actual situation, which prove that this method is reasonable.…”

Unmanned aerial vehicle enabled communication technologies and applications for Internet of things
Published 2019-12-01“…The Internet of things (IoT) is designed to provide the wide coverage and the massive connectivity service for“things” node, and the collected “things” data can provide support for the intelligent decision-making at the application layer. However, due to the fixed deployment of the access point of the “things” node, the topology of the IoT network is not flexible, consequently making it difficult to dynamically cover the IoT node or regions with high mobility. In addition, the current IoT communication technology suffers from the remote blind area, which makes it impossible for a large number of “things” node to connect to establish the “network” in some geologically-complexed regions.UAV has high mobility, low cost and flexible deployment, which is suitable to solve the above issues.Studying the communication technology of UAV assisted IoT,help the IoT to extend the existing network coverage, enhance the flexibility of the IoT topology and provide more diverse IoT service.…”
