Study on coal permeability evolution considering adsorptive deformation characteristics of matrix by Gang WANG, Mingzhen WANG, Zhiyong XIAO, Xiaoxiang SUN, Wenwen JIA, Feng JIANG, Chengcheng ZHENG

    Published 2024-12-01
“…The field data and laboratory data are used to compare and verify the proposed model, and the influence of non-uniform adsorption of matrix region on permeability evolution is analyzed by finite element software. The results show that: ① The proposed model has a high matching degree with field and laboratory experimental data, and the permeability prediction data under different boundary conditions have high reliability. ② The permeability of the non-adsorption expansion area of the matrix will be reduced by the squeezing effect of the adsorption expansion area, and the closer to the adsorption expansion deformation area, the stronger the squeezing effect, and the more obvious the reduction in permeability of the non-adsorption expansion area. ③ With the increase of the adsorption area of the matrix, the stress disturbance of the adjacent matrix region will be earlier, and the gas permeability will be lower when the compressed matrix region is in equilibrium. …”

Evaluating the role of selection in the evolution of mitochondrial genomes of aboriginal peoples of Siberia by B. A. Malyarchuk, M. V. Derenko

    Published 2023-06-01
“…In Siberian populations, nucleotide sites that are under positive selection and associated with mtDNA haplogroups were registered not in the north (which is expected under the assumption of adaptive evolution of mtDNA), but in the south of Siberia.…”

Photosynthetic directed endosymbiosis to investigate the role of bioenergetics in chloroplast function and evolution by Bidhan Chandra De, Jay Cournoyer, Yang-le Gao, Catherine L. Wallace, Stanley Bram, Angad P. Mehta

    Published 2024-12-01
“…Abstract Cyanobacterial photosynthesis (to produce ATP and NADPH) might have played a pivotal role in the endosymbiotic evolution to chloroplast. However, rather than meeting the ATP requirements of the host cell, the modern-day land plant chloroplasts are suggested to utilize photosynthesized ATP predominantly for carbon assimilation. …”

Termination-acidity tailoring of molybdenum carbides for alkaline hydrogen evolution reaction by Zhigang Chen, Minghao Yang, Yifan Li, Wenbin Gong, Juan Wang, Tong Liu, Chunyu Zhang, Shuang Hou, Guang Yang, Hao Li, Ye Jin, Chunyan Zhang, Zhongqing Tian, Fancheng Meng, Yi Cui

    Published 2025-01-01
“…Abstract Transition-metal carbides have been advocated as the promising alternatives to noble-metal platinum-based catalysts in electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction over half a century. However, the effectiveness of transition-metal carbides catalyzing hydrogen evolution in high-pH electrolyte is severely compromised due to the lowered proton activity and intractable alkaline-leaching issue of transition-metal centers. …”
