Le paysage humanisé au Québec
Published 2015-07-01“…The analysis reveals the limitations of sector-type approaches which, in the present case, led to reducing the scope of the landscape to that of natural ecology. By revealing the limits of such approaches, this status could become an experimental field for modernising the structures regulating the development of the region of Quebec.…”

An Introduction to USGS Topo Maps
Published 2021-01-01“…They can be used to address spatial questions in disciplines related to natural resources, hydrology, forestry, agriculture, or ecology. In 1879, the United States Geological Survey began to map the topography of the United States, producing new map versions of each area at semi-regular time intervals. …”

A Critical Analysis of Imagery in My Heart Leaps Up: Illuminating Wordsworth's Nature Poetry in the Context of Ecocriticism
Published 2024-06-01“…By offering a close reading of the poem and drawing on various eco-critical perspectives, the researcher explores the relationship between the poem's imagery and concepts such as biocentrism, anthropocentrism, eco-feminism, and deep ecology. Additionally, the researcher compares My Heart Leaps Up with other nature poems by Wordsworth and other Romantic poets, which helps us to identify particular stylistic and thematic features of the poem. …”

Consistency Analysis of Precipitation Characteristics of Mu Us Sandy Land Based on Daily Precipitation Data
Published 2021-01-01“…Mu Us Sandy Land is located in Yulin city of Shaanxi province and Ordos city of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, where the ecological and hydrological system is relatively fragile. However, precipitation is an important controlling factor to the evolution of the ecology and hydrology.Meanwhile, the intensity and process of precipitation also have a crucial influence on ecosystem. Therefore,it is necessary to evaluate the consistency of precipitation characteristic value sequences in Mu Us Sandy Land.Based on daily precipitation data from 1957 to 2019 at 10 meteorological stations in Mu Us Sand Land, this paper selects four precipitation characteristic value sequences namely annual precipitation, annual maximum daily precipitation, annual longest continuous precipitation and annual longest continuous precipitation days, and analyzes the trend by Mann-Kendall method, the abrupt change by sliding t test, and the period by continuous wavelet analysis for evaluating the consistency of precipitation characteristic value sequences. The results indicate that:On the whole, the precipitation characteristic value sequences show a decreasing trend; The significant abrupt change points occur in 1970—1990 and after 2000;The main period of the precipitation characteristic value is about 35 years.…”

Nonlinear functional response parameter estimation in a stochastic predator-prey model
Published 2011-11-01“…Parameter estimation for the functional response of predator-prey systems is a critical methodological problem in population ecology. In this paper we consider a stochastic predator-prey system with non-linear Ivlev functional response and propose a method for model parameter estimation based on time series of field data. …”

Application of Sequence-Dependent Electrophoresis Fingerprinting in Exploring Biodiversity and Population Dynamics of Human Intestinal Microbiota: What Can Be Revealed?
Published 2008-01-01“…Sequence-dependent electrophoresis (SDE) fingerprinting techniques such as denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE) have become commonplace in the field of molecular microbial ecology. The success of the SDE technology lays in the fact that it allows visualization of the predominant members of complex microbial ecosystems independent of their culturability and without prior knowledge on the complexity and diversity of the ecosystem. …”
