Estimation of Evapotranspiration and Its Variation Characteristics in Yongji Irrigation Area of Hetao Irrigation District Based on SEBAL Model by LI Yanbin, LIANG Kun, ZHANG Wen'ge

Published 2023-01-01
“…Evapotranspiration (ET) is a key link in the hydrological cycle and energy cycle, and accurate estimation of ET is crucial for agricultural water use scheduling and water resources management. In order to establish a quick estimation method of regional ET based on remote sensing technology, this paper selected the Yongji Irrigation Area of the Hetao Irrigation District as the study area.By using Landsat remote sensing images and land use classification results,a SEBAL model was constructed to estimate the daily ET for the 2019 growing season in the Yongji Irrigation Area. Then, the spatial and temporal variation characteristics of ET in the study area and the differences of ET in different land types were analyzed. The results indicate that:① Compared with the FAO P-M formula,SEBAL model estimation results yield a determination coefficient R2 of 0.94;the root-mean-square error (RMSE) is 0.43 mm/d,and the relative error (MRE) is 8.62%.The inversion accuracy of the model is higher, which can provide a reasonable ET estimation for the study area.② The average daily ET in the Yongji Irrigation Area shows an unimodal trend during the growing season, with a maximum value of 4.56 mm/d in July and a minimum value of 1.87 mm/d in October, and there are obvious differences in spatial distribution.③ The daily ET of different land use types is as follows:water bodies>arable land>urban and rural land>grassland>wasteland.Overall, the estimation of regional ET based on the SEBAL model can provide a reference for the economical utilization of water resources in irrigation areas.…”
