Off-body channel modelling and diversity reception approach using wearable circularly polarized antenna by Wenjun LYU, Pengfei CUI, Hongbo ZHU

    Published 2018-06-01
“…An anti-fading diversity receiving approach to body-area communications was proposed.A pair of opposite-sense called planar endfire circularly polarized antennas (PECPA) was employed to implement the receiving approach. The wide beamwidth CP characteristic of the PECPA was used to mitigate the height-dependent fadings.Antenna designs and body-area propagation measurements were performed at 5.8 GHz-band.An off-body channel model was established, and a channel simulator was accordingly developed. All results were compared to the cases using linearly polarized (LP) antennas diversity on equal conditions. The results show that the equal-gain-combination (EGC) signal levels for CP diversity reception are 2.1 dB greater than the LP one (with polarization mismatching loss removed). The rootmean-square delay spread (RDS) and number of multi-path component (MPC) can be significantly reduced. In addition, the simulated bit error rate (BER) of the body-area communication system using CP diversity can be improved by one order of magnitude compared the LP diversity one.The correctness and effectiveness of the proposed approach has been evidently validated by the experimental and simulated results.…”

Asymptotic performance analysis of untrusted relay system with full-duplex jamming destination by Rui ZHAO, Xing TAN, Yuanjian LI, Yucheng HE, Chunguo LI

    Published 2018-09-01
“…The cooperative relay technique in the field of physical layer security is widely concerned by the academic community, due to the advantages of increasing the network capacity and expanding the network coverage. However, cooperative relays may play as untrusted nodes in some certain circumstances.Based on this,to enhance the secrecy performance of untrusted relay systems,a novel full-duplex destination jamming (FDJ) scheme was proposed in the Rayleigh fading channel. In order to maximize the system’s secrecy capacity,a switchable split-optimal antenna selection (OAS) scheme was proposed for a multiple-antenna destination, the power allocation optimization scheme between the source and destination was designed, and the corresponding closed-form expressions of secrecy performance were given. In the large-scale antennas analysis, the closed-form expressions of the ergodic achievable secrecy rate and the optimal power allocation factor of instantaneous secrecy capacity for the FDJ-OAS scheme were derived.Furthermore, based on different asymptotic cases, the asymptotic analyses of secrecy outage probability for the FDJ-OAS scheme were significantly analyzed.Simulation results show that the analytical curves match well with the Monte-Carlo simulation results. It is concluded that the diversity order of the FDJ-OAS scheme is proportional to the number of antennas and antenna diversity can be achieved, which reveals the advantages of the proposed FDJ-OAS scheme.…”

Lightweight opportunistic routing forwarding strategy based on Markov chain by Feng LI, Ya-li SI, Zhen CHEN, Li-min SHEN

    Published 2017-05-01
“…A lightweight opportunistic routing forwarding strategy (MOR) was proposed based on Markov chain. In the scheme, the execute process of network was divided into a plurality of equal time period, and the random encounter state of node in each time period was represented by activity degree. The state sequence of a plurality of continuous time period constitutes a discrete Markov chain. The activity degree of encounter node was estimated by Markov model to predict its state of future time period, which can enhance the accuracy of activity degree estimation. Then, the method of comprehensive evaluating forwarding utility was designed based on the activity degree of node and the average encounter interval.MOR used the utility of node for making a routing forwarding decision. Each node only maintained a state of last time period and a state transition probability matrix, and a vector recording the average encounter interval of nodes. So,the routing forwarding decision algorithm was simple and efficient, low time and space complexity.Furthermore, the method was proposed to set optimal number of the message copy based on multiple factors, which can effectively balance the utilization of network resources. Results show that compared with existing algorithms,MOR algorithm can effectively increase the delivery ratio and reduce the delivery delay, and lower routing overhead ratio.…”
