Making room for alternative African epistemologies in Ethiopian higher education
Published 2023-06-01“…While this is necessary to a certain extent, the need to make sure that graduates have a well-balanced regional and international outlook that goes beyond too immediate priorities of market forces should be well kept in mind by higher education program developers and curriculum designers. One issue often raised by Ethiopian scholars and others in relation to the narrow outlook of most Ethiopian higher education graduates is the fact that they are mostly unaware of (or alien to) the lives, aspirations, struggles, dreams, and achievements of people in adjacent African countries and the African diaspora. …”

Exponential Trajectory Tracking Control of Nonholonomic Wheeled Mobile Robots
Published 2024-12-01“…In this paper, we address the problem for the trajectory tracking of nonholonomic wheeled mobile robots, and an exponential trajectory tracking controller is designed. The stability analysis is concerned with studying the local exponential stability property of a cascade system, provided that two isolated subsystems are exponentially stable and under certain bound conditions for the interconnection term. …”

Efficient resource allocation with context-awareness for parked car road side unit-based Internet of vehicles
Published 2022-07-01“…In order to reduce the number of road side unit (RSU) and meet the needs of mobile vehicle users for processing latency-sensitive and computation-intensive tasks, a context-aware resource allocation algorithm was proposed based on parked cars.Road side parked vehicles were selected to serve the vehicle users instead of RSU using parking time as a factor for determining whether a parked vehicle could become a parked car roadside unit (PCRSU).In order to further reduce the system response time, a mechanism was designed considering content caching and distribution. In respect to user content caching, PCRSU made personalized content recommendation for vehicle users with awareness by using two elements of user historical search data and point of interest (PoI) area type.In respect to content distribution, PCRSU allocated bandwidth efficiently by sensing the data transmission needs of vehicle users.Extensive experiments show that compared with the existing benchmark methods, the proposed algorithm can select PCRSU more reasonably, effectively reduce the demand response delay, improve the stability of the network while ensuring network coverage, and provide more accurate service content for vehicle users.…”

Aux seuils du paratexte médiéval : les auteurs français et leur nom dans les inventaires aristocratiques de la fin du Moyen Âge
Published 2021-06-01“…The article will gather, sort and analyse the 244 cases out of 4686 where the names of 56 French authors are used by inventories as a means to designate given works. It will then offer a reflection on the nascent, minority status of the notion of authorship within a medieval literary landscape that was clearly aware of this concept, yet seemingly applied it to French literature only sporadically and with the utmost hesitancy.…”
