'Des Yeux Qui Ne Voient Pas...': The smartphones by Luca Di Lorenzo

    Published 2018-04-01
“…The subject of the survey is the first BMW Guggenheim Lab, designed in 2010 by Atelier Bow-Wow. Described by the architects themselves as a ‘travel toolbox’ or ‘pop-up fly loft theatre in the city’, this compact architecture is the incarnation of three interesting formal qualities usually associated with smartphones: the clear division between the hardware and the ergonomic user interface; the possibility to operate different functions (or software) in the same space (or screen); and the real and virtual connection with different urban situations.…”

Hidden Markov model based P2P flow identification technique by Bo XU, Ming CHEN, Xiang-lin WEI

    Published 2012-06-01
“…To identify various P2P flows accurately in real-time,a hidden Markov model(HMM)based P2P flow identification technique was proposed. This approach made use of packet size,inter-arrival time and arrival order to construct flow identification model,in which discrete random variable was used to depict the characteristics of HMM state.A framework called HMM-FIA was proposed, which could identify various P2P flows simultaneously.Meanwhile, the algorithm for selecting the number of HMM state was designed. In a controllable experimental circumstance in the campus network,HMM-FIA was utilized to identify P2P flows and was compared with other identification methods. The results show that discrete random variable can decrease the model constructing time and improve the time-cost and accuracy in identifying unknown flows,HMM-FIA can correctly identify the packet flows produced by various P2P protocols and it can be adaptive to different network circumstance.…”

Multi-node cooperation based robust visible light intelligent positioning by Sicong LIU, Danping SU, Tiankuo WEI, Xianyao WANG

    Published 2023-05-01
“…Visible light communication is expected to be one of the key alternative technologies for 6G with the advantages of abundant spectrum resources, less susceptibility to electromagnetic pollution and green safety, which also provides a new idea for high-precision indoor positioning. However, the positioning accuracy can be significantly degraded in the harsh indoor environment where LED that can be used as an anchor is insufficient or severely blocked. Therefore, a robust visible light intelligent positioning method based on multi-node cooperation was investigated.Considering the non-line-of-sight propagation of visible light and the dynamic change of user terminal orientation, a cooperative localization mechanism between user terminals was established to obtain mutual information gain and a convolutional-recurrent neural network was designed, and the theoretical analysis of cooperative localization accuracy performance was carried out.Simulation results show that the introduction of the cooperative localization mechanism can effectively improve positioning performance under harsh conditions.…”

Sparse Bayesian learning-based massive multi-user detection algorithm by Pingping CHEN, Xuanda WANG, Zhaopeng XIE, Yi FANG, Jiahui CHEN

    Published 2023-10-01
“…Aiming at the problem that most existing algorithms were based on the Gaussian inverse gamma prior model (GIG-SBL), which ignored the sparsity of the support set vector within the sparse solution, a sparse Bayesian learning framework based on the Bernoulli Gaussian inverse gamma prior model (BGIG-SBL) was proposed.By introducing a binary vector of Bernoulli prior, the BGIG-SBL-SMV algorithm based on single measurement vector (SMV) was designed, which utilized the sparsity of the support set vector to improve reconstruction performance. Then the proposed algorithm was extended to multiple measurement vector (MMV) models by sharing the same hyperparameters. The BGIG-SBL-MMV algorithm was developed based on the joint sparsity of MMV.The experimental results show that the proposed BGIG-SBL-SMV can achieve a performance gain of 2 dB in mMTC over the traditional GIG-SBL-SMV.Moreover, BGIG-SBL-MMV has a performance gain of 4 dB as compared with its SMV counterparts, which demonstrates the advantages of the proposed schemes.…”

Research on Wavelength Algorithm for Cross-Layer Routing in Software Defi ned Satellite Optical Network by Hai LI, Shanghong ZHAO, Yongjun LI, Cong PENG

    Published 2021-09-01
“…In response to the difficulty of satellite network management and maintenance and the urgent need for large-capacity data transmission, a software-defi ned satellite optical network cross-layer wavelength routing algorithm based on ant colony algorithm (SDNCLRWA) was proposed. The algorithm took delay and available wavelength rate as heuristic functions, and designed a two-stage cross-layer wavelength routing mechanism to reduced routing hops and network congestion rate.First, it was routed in the LEO satellite single-layer network. The MEO satellite network was used for routing only when the routing fails or the routing hop count was too high. The simulation was carried out under the software-defi ned satellite optical network architecture and the results showed that the SDNCL-RWA algorithm proposed was better than the traditional Dijkstra+FF algorithm and the wavelength routing ant colony algorithm (ACO+FF) in terms of network blocking rate and average routing hops.…”

Energy efficiency priority IoT task collaborative migration strategy by Longyu ZHOU, Ning YANG, Guanhua QIAO, Ke ZHANG, Qilin ZHENG

    Published 2019-06-01
“…Mobile edge computing can reduce transmission delay and data processing delay for IoT applications by executing communication and computing operation in the edge network. However, for a large number of IoT device connections, massive service data is simultaneously gathered on the edge computing platform, which will significantly increase the traffic load of the forward link and the computing load of the edge server. In order to meet this challenge, based on diversified IoT application requirements,a task collaborative migration strategy was designed to realize the minimum energy consumption of the system under time delay constraints by optimizing the selection control of equipment transmission. In the absence of perfect channel state prior information,a resource management algorithm based on deep reinforcement learning was proposed to obtain the optimal offloading decision with lower complexity. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can significantly reduce the energy consumption of the system and meet the service delay of the task compared with the random transmission selection strategy.…”
