Lactobacillus plantarum J26 alleviates alcohol-induced oxidative liver injury by regulating the Nrf2 signaling pathway
Published 2024-07-01“…The results showed that pre-intake of L. plantarum J26 could improve liver pathological changes, reduce lipid accumulation, increase mitochondrial ATP and mitochondrial (mtDNA) levels, and alleviate liver injury. In addition, pre-intake L. plantarum J26 can improve the level of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) in the intestines in mice, short chain fatty acids can be used as a signaling molecule activation of nuclear factor E2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) signaling pathway to alleviate liver oxidative stress, and maintain mitochondrial homeostasis by regulating the expression of genes related to mitochondrial dynamics and autophagy, thereby reducing cell apoptosis to alleviate alcohol-induced oxidative liver injury.…”

Aging Alters Olfactory Bulb Network Oscillations and Connectivity: Relevance for Aging-Related Neurodegeneration Studies
Published 2020-01-01“…The OB of aged mice showed a significant increase in the number of histone H2AX-positive neurons, a marker of DNA damage. While the input-output relationship measure of basal synaptic activity was found not to differ between young and aged mice, a pronounced decline in the slope of field excitatory postsynaptic potential (fEPSP) and the population spike amplitude (PSA) were found in aged mice. …”

SLC22A1 rs622342 Polymorphism Predicts Insulin Resistance Improvement in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Treated with Metformin: A Cross-Sectional Study
Published 2020-01-01“…Organic cation transporter 1 (encoded by SLC22A1) is responsible for the transport of metformin, and ataxia-telangiectasia-mutated (ATM) is a gene relating to the DNA repair and cell cycle control. The aim of this study was to evaluate if the genetic variants in SLC22A1 rs622342 and ATM rs11212617 could be effective predictors of islet function improvement in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) on metformin treatment. …”

Qinggan Yipi capsule ameliorates hepatic fibrosis in rats by down-regulating the TGF-β1/Smad2/3 signaling pathway and improving gut microbiota imbalance
Published 2025-01-01“…In addition, the results of qPCR and Western blot analysis from both in vitro and in vivo experiments indicated that QgYp significantly downregulated the expression of proteins and mRNA associated with the TGF-β1/Smad2/3 pathway. The 16S rDNA gene sequencing results showed that QgYp can increase the diversity and richness of the gut microbiota in HF rats and alter the composition of the gut microbiota.ConclusionQgYp could effectively ameliorate HF, and this effect might be connected to the downregulation of the TGF-β1/Smad2/3 pathway, the suppression of HSCs activation, and regulation of gut microbiota dysbiosis.…”
