Crack path in liquid metal embrittlement: experiments with steels and modeling
Published 2015-12-01“…Using state of the art characterization tools (Focused Ion Beam and Transmission Electron Microscopy) a clear understanding of crack path is emerging for these systems where a classical fractographic analysis fails to provide useful information. …”

Planar C-Band Antenna with Electronically Controllable Switched Beams
Published 2009-01-01“…The switching capabilities have been implemented by the inclusion of phase shifters based on PIN diodes in the feed network following a strategy that allows the reduction of the number of switches compared to a classic design. The measurements show that the design objectives have been achieved and encourage the application of the acquired experience in antennas for space applications, such as X-band SAR and Ku-band DBS.…”

Two-Level Brezzi-Pitkäranta Stabilized Finite Element Methods for the Incompressible Flows
Published 2014-01-01“…The stability and error estimates of finite element solutions are derived for classical one-level method. Combining the techniques of two-level discretizations, we propose two-level Stokes/Oseen/Newton iteration methods corresponding to three different linearization methods and show the stability and error estimates of these three methods. …”

Displacement Approach to Determine the Effective Tensile and Torsional Modulus of Nanowires
Published 2021-01-01“…Surface elasticity and residual stress have a strong influence on the effective properties of nanowire (NW) due to its excessively large surface area-to-volume ratio. Here, the classical displacement method is used to solve the field equations of the core-surface layer model subjected to tension and torsion. …”

Performance analysis and testing of personal influence algorithm in online social networks
Published 2018-10-01“…Social influence is the key factor to drive information propagation in online social networks and can be modeled and analyzed with social networking data.As a kind of classical personal influence algorithm, two parallel implementation versions of a PageRank based method were introduced.Furthermore, extensive experiments were conducted on a large-scale real dataset to test the performance of these parallel methods in a distributed environment. The results demonstrate that the computational efficiency of the personal influence algorithm can be improved significantly in massive data sets by virtue of existing big data processing framework, and provide an empirical reference for the future research and optimization of the algorithm as well.…”

DCT and Wiener filter based on approach for speech enhancement using a single microphone
Published 2006-01-01“…Considering the enhancement of speech corrupted by complicated additive noise,a novel algorithm was proposed based on discrete cosine transform(DCT) and Wiener filter using a single microphone. This algorithm did not rely on any speech signal model and could efficiently attain the optimal estimation of clean speech components using successive noisy speech components and minimum mean square error estimation in DCT domain.Furthermore,it could overcome the disad-vantage of independent assumptions in classic methods for speech components.Simulation results demonstrate that the pro-posed algorithm possesses good performance both in objective and subjective tests with different kinds of noise.…”

On multiple-particle continuous-time random walks
Published 2004-01-01“…Scaling limits of continuous-time random walks are used in physics to model anomalous diffusion in which particles spread at a different rate than the classical Brownian motion. In this paper, we characterize the scaling limit of the average of multiple particles, independently moving as a continuous-time random walk. …”
