Graph neural network driven traffic prediction technology:review and challenge by Yi ZHOU, Shuting HU, Wei LI, Nan CHENG, Ning LU, Xuemin(Sherman) SHEN

    Published 2021-12-01
“…With the rapid development of Internet of things and artificial intelligence technology, accurate analysis and prediction of traffic data have become the primary target of intelligent transportations. In recent years, the method of traffic forecasting has gradually changed from the classical model-driven type to the data-driven type. However, how to effectively analyze the spatial-temporal characteristics of road networks through big data is one of the key issues in the traffic prediction process.Spatiotemporal big data analysis is a powerful tool for the traffic prediction. The traffic network can be modeled as a graph network, while the deep learning method can be extended on the graph network.Utilizing graph neural networks, we can build the spatiotemporal prediction model, and obtain the spatial-temporal correlation between the sensor nodes in road networks effectively by using graph convolution, which can significantly improve the accuracy of traffic prediction models. The traffic forecasting technology driven by graph neural networks was explored, and two kinds of traffic prediction models based on the analysis of deep spatial-temporal characteristics were extracted. The actual cases were analyzed and evaluated to discuss the technical advantages and key challenges of graph neural networks in the traffic prediction. The potential issues of graph neural network driven prediction mechanisms were also excavated.…”

Limits, limitations, and outer boundaries of antitrust: censorship, free speech, and dominance by Jan Polański

    Published 2023-10-01
“…It concludes that while free speech might seem to constitute a political interest of no relevance to orthodox antitrust enforcement, it is possible to consider it under antitrust to relieve some social tensions generated by mostly unchecked power of large undertakings over speech. While a classic consumer welfare standard perspective can be preserved, more novel types of approaches also remain available, yet they would likely face similar problems as those discussed in the article, i.e., the problem of designing workable standards of assessment. …”

Historiography of Neo-Roman Thought: Critical Review of Skinner’s Liberty before Liberalism by Reza Najafzadeh

    Published 2018-09-01
“…Quentin Skinner and a group of writers and professors of so called Cambridge School have had an undeniable role in critical rereading of history of European thought and reprinting some of the classical texts of modern political thought. Skinner, in his enormous hermeneutical studies, linking the contextualist approach to the intentionalist view, shows that the established values of today’s life style and our thinking about the values reflect a set of selections that we have made through the different historical times and possibilities. …”

Study on coded distributed fast Hadamard transform based non-binary LDPC code decoding algorithm by Rui LIU, Yong LI

    Published 2023-10-01
“…Despite the excellent error correction performance and burst error resistance capability of non-binary LDPC codes, the complexity of the decoding algorithms hinders their broader application. In the classic FHT-QSPA decoding, the fast Hadamard transform (FHT) and its inverse transform (IFHT) have become the main bottleneck for updating the check nodes. Therefore, a coded distributed FHT scheme based on systematic MDS codes was proposed. In the scheme, the channel probability was modeled by the master node as a matrix and it was segmented, and those sub-matrices were encoded into redundant ones. Then, all the sub-matrices were offloaded to worker nodes to perform parallel FHT and IFHT, and the results were sent back to the master node for the final decoding.By embedding redundant information, the proposed scheme resolved the straggling problem, improving the efficiency, and accelerating the entire decoding process.Comparisons with other coded matrix multiplication schemes, the proposed scheme provides lower encoding complexity, higher numerical accuracy in decoding recovery, and maintains an efficient butterfly operation, effectively reducing the computational complexity of worker nodes. The time comparison and decoding performance analysis reveal that the proposed scheme achieves up to approximately 3.8 times acceleration compared to the traditional single-node FHT scheme, significantly enhances the FHT-QSPA decoding efficiency without affecting the decoding performance.…”
