Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm and Its Application in Image Segmentation
Published 2025-01-01“…This paper provides insight into the application of the PSO algorithm, Otsu’s Method, and the Watershed within the field of image segmentation for their global search capability and adaptability to complex problems. Meanwhile, classical segmentation methods such as OSTU, Watershed and K-means are also widely used in medical image processing due to their simplicity and effectiveness. …”

‘In physical things a man may invent; in moral things he must obey’: Addressing the Child(like) in George MacDonald’s Fairy Stories
Published 2020-12-01“…George MacDonald is one of the Victorian authors whose fairy tales have brought about the renewal of the genre while becoming classics of British children’s literature. Meant for the whole family, his stories present the blend of didacticism and fantasy that characterizes the fairy tale genre as well as the Victorian taste for edifying while indulging in fancy. …”

Load Calculation of Limit Pair of Sun Gear on the Roadheader Cutting Reducer
Published 2016-01-01“…During the practical application of EBZ- 260 type roadheader, the stopper plate and pin of sun gear on the cutting reducer of roadheader shall be worn seriously. According to the classical friction theory, the contact surface of limit pair of sun gear must be subject to the load. …”

Non-metric variations in individuals who died during the perinatal period in past populations: recording protocol and comparative data
Published 2023-08-01“…Non-metric variations, also referred to as "epigenetic variations" or asymptomatic bone variants, are bone or dental phenotypic variants of unknown origin, with no known pathological etiology. They are classically identified during osteological analysis to develop an individual profile, analyse biological affinities between individuals and outline possible genetic relatedness clusters in burial spaces. …”

Research on Cooperative Innovation Behavior of Industrial Cluster Based on Subject Adaptability
Published 2016-01-01“…Through the utilization of two key tools, evolutionary stable strategy and replicator dynamics equations, this paper considers the cost and gains of cooperative innovation and the amount of government support as well as other factors to build and analyze a classic evolutionary game model. On this basis, the subject’s own adaptability is introduced, which is regarded as the system noise in the stochastic evolutionary game model so as to analyze the impact of adaptability on the game strategy selection. …”

Examination Stress Results in Attentional Bias and Altered Neural Reactivity in Test-Anxious Individuals
Published 2018-01-01“…Accordingly, we investigated the attentional bias toward test-related threatening words in selected high and low test-anxious participants under the stress of final examinations by using an event-related potential (ERP) technique. A classic dot-probe paradigm was adopted with a test-related/test-unrelated threatening word and a neutral word pair as cues. …”

Implementation of finite state logic machines via the dynamics of atomic systems
Published 2025-02-01“…In this context, we propose a novel approach in which the dynamics of a two-level atom is used to execute classical Boolean logic operations. Unlike traditional combinational logic circuits, where the output depends solely on the input, we suggest a finite-state machine-like computing model, where the output is influenced by both the input and the system’s initial state. …”

Quantum anonymous one-vote veto protocol based on BB84 states
Published 2022-08-01“…., most of existing quantum voting protocols need to perform operations and measurements in high-dimensional Hilbert space, a quantum anonymous one-vote veto protocol with a quantum cloud (QAOVC) was designed by using the QSMD protocol. In addition, to decentralize, a quantum anonymous one-vote veto (QAOV) protocol without any third party was presented.Compared with related protocols, the proposed protocols require less quantum resources and simpler operations, so they have better feasibility.Under the semi-honest model, quantum perfect encryption and classical one-time pad can ensure the unconditional security of the proposed protocols, i.e., it can completely meet secure requirements of one-vote veto and perfectly protect the privacy of the voters. Finally, simulation experiments are implemented on IBM Qiskit, and the experimental results show that the protocols are correct and feasible.…”

Testing for wage-specific search intensity
Published 2025-01-01“…Furthermore, I estimate the structural parameters identifiable in each model, revealing that wage-specific search leads to greater total search effort, faster transitions into the upper tail of the wage distribution, and ultimately higher accepted wages—more than a 25% increase following unemployment. For low wages, the classic random search model delivers a fair replication of the actual data, but for higher wages targeted search is better. …”
