"He told me to hold my tongue" : de la violence physique à la subjectivation politique dans The History of Mary Prince by Frédéric Regard

    Published 2010-09-01
“…She was then taken under the protection of Thomas Pringle, who would soon edit Prince’s autobiography, typed by a friend of his, Susanna Strickland. In this essay, I try to demonstrate that Prince’s narrative—through Strickland’s mediation—uses rhetoric to transfigure herself, from an animal into a British lady, thus challenging the classic distinction between the savage slave and the civilized European. …”

Technique for target recognition based on intuitionistic fuzzy c-means clustering and kernel matching pursuit by Yang LEI, Wei-wei KONG, Ying-jie LEI

    Published 2012-11-01
“…Kernel matching pursuit requires every step of searching process be global optimal searching in the redundant dictionary of function.Namely, the dictionary learning time of KMP was too long.To the above drawbacks,a novel technique for KMP based on IFCM was proposed to substitute local searching for global searching by the property superiority of dynamic clustering performance, which was also the superiority in Intuitionistic fuzzy c-means algorithm. Then two testing including classification and effectiveness were carried out towards four real sample data.Subsequently, high resolution range profile (HRRP)was selected from the classical properties of target recognition in e middle ballistic trajectory, which were extracted for getting sub-range profile. Finally, three algorithms including FCM,KMP,IFCM-KMP were carried out respectively towards different kinds of sub-range profile samples in emulation platform, the conclusion of which fully demonstrates that the IFCM-KMP algorithm is superior over FCM and KMP when it comes to target recognition in the middle ballistic trajectory.…”

An Energy-Efficient Multi-User’s Resource Allocation Scheme by Zhao Wang, Youming Li, Ting Zou, Xiaoqing Liu, Bin Chen

    Published 2013-04-01
“…In wireless environment, the increases in the number of users and the demand for a higher rate have triggered rapidly booming energy consumption at the base station. Therefore, energy efficient design in wireless network has become very essential. An energy efficient multi-user OFDM downlink resource allocation scheme was studied, using the distributed way.Firstly, according to user’s average channel gain and the minimum requirements of user’s bits, subcarriers were allocated, combined with the idea of proposed energy-efficient criterion. Then better channels were assigned to each user in accordance with each user’s allocated subcarrier numbers.Again each user’s average bits were assigned on the user’s allocated subcarriers and optimal adjustment using energy-efficient criterion had to be made to ensure the minimum power. The simulation results show that under the conditions of satisfying bit-error rate and transmission rate for users, the power can be reduced by 5~6 dB in the proposed algorithm, compared with the power in the static frequency division multiple access resource allocation.Furthermore, the power can be reduced by 2~4 dB,compared with the power in a existing classical distributed algorithm.…”
