La vérité dans le sang : roman policier et connaissance by Marion François

    Published 2015-03-01

The end will not always explain the beginning, so that the reader becomes aware that a question is always answered by another question, and that the first is only the start, in the spiral of generalized suspicion, of the questioning of original certainties.…”

Performance analysis of packet cooperative relaying system and the effect of packet length on performance by Shao-yang LIU, Yong XI, Ying LI, Ji-bo WEI, LISTERBurr A

    Published 2012-09-01
“…The packet error rate(PER)of the packet cooperative relay system for both(amplify-and-forward)and DF(decode-and-forward)schemes in the high signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)region was analyzed, and the effect of packet length on PER performance was studied. It is shown that both AF and DF achieve the same diversity gain in terms of PER,but with different coding gains depending on packet length.Different from the prior research,if considering prac-tical packet lengths, the DF scheme always achieves better performance than the AF scheme, with shorter packet length, the advantage of DF over AF is more obvious. For large enough packet length,AF performance approaches that of DF.It is also found that the optimal relay will always be located in the middle of the two nodes for AF regardless of packet length, while for DF,when packet length becomes large, the optimal relay moves from close to the source towards the midpoint.…”

Location based routing addressing mechanism of integrated satellite and terrestrial network by Hewu LI, Lixin LIU, Jun LIU, Qian WU

    Published 2020-08-01
“…The ever-changing characteristics of the connection between the satellite network and the terrestrial network caused by the high-speed movement of the satellites have always been one of the most important problem that plagues the routing mechanism of the satellite network and integrated network. To address this problem,a location addressing based routing mechanism of integrated satellite and terrestrial network (LA-ISTN) was proposed.LA-ISTN exploited the user’s physical location in the user’s IP address to calculate the routing orientation.Based on the orientation,LA-ISTN could choose the best forward interface.Theoretical analysis and simulation experiments show that compared with snapshot protocol and OSPF routing protocol,LA-ISTN significantly reduces the route table storage overhead, with no routing updates cost caused by neighbor packet switching and communication.Inter-satellite route selection is not dependent on the prediction of link connection relations, with strong robustness, can always guarantee the network’s availability.…”

Intellectualized forensic technique for Android pattern locks by Jiahao QIU, Weidong QIU, Yangde WANG, Yan ZHA, Yuming XIE, Yan LI

    Published 2022-02-01
“…In the field of digital forensics, how to unlock mobile devices such as phones has always been an urgent problem to overcome. As a special kind of password, pattern lock is widely used in mobile phone screen unlock and software access authorization.Existing pattern lock cracking techniques have several non-negligible disadvantages, such as poor concealment, low practicability, non-intelligence and single application scenario. Two basic threat models were abstracted from shoulder surfing, surveillance camera, and real-time forensics, and a multi-scenario side channel attack on pattern locks was proposed.Based on the data of surveillance camera or manual video, intelligent vision recognition algorithms were adopted to identify, select and track the target device and biological key points in the video dynamically. Then, discrete tracking points were integrated by spatial mapping and pruning algorithm. The denoising algorithm was used to eliminate redundancy and optimize the trajectory.Through procedures above, the original trajectory was simplified into regular polylines defined by several key turning points. Finally, the simplified pattern was compared and matched with the rules of legal pattern locks to inference and retort its actual pattern.Possible candidates will be sorted in the output according to their confidences. Results show that in the surveillance camera scenario, where the device screen is always visible, the cracking success rate of our technique is 89% for 10 attempts and 99.3% for 20 attempts. In the face-to-face scenario, where the subject consciously blocks the screen and his drawing finger, the success rate was 82% after 10 attempts and 89.3% after 20 attempts. In the surveillance camera scenario, the increase of shooting horizontal distance can significantly decrease the cracking success rate. But this effect diminishes with the increase of the number of attempts. Results show that the cracking success rate of the complex password is always higher than that of the simple password during 20 attempts, which means a complex pattern lock cannot play a better protection role if the proposed technique is applied.Shooting angle deflection within 5° has little effect on the success rate of cracking.…”
