Multi-gate neuron-like transistors based on ensembles of aligned nanowires on flexible substrates
Published 2025-01-01“…Abstract The intriguing way the receptors in biological skin encode the tactile data has inspired the development of electronic skins (e-skin) with brain-inspired or neuromorphic computing. Starting with local (near sensor) data processing, there is an inherent mechanism in play that helps to scale down the data. …”

Intraoperative navigated ultrasound in posterior fossa surgery
Published 2024-09-01“…However, in posterior fossa surgery, especially in the semi-sitting position, navigation is often considered to be non-useful due to limited accuracy caused by gravitational effects and brain-shift. To enable navigation in these surgical approaches intraoperative evaluation of accuracy and navigation update strategies are required. …”

Terahertz Sensor Study Based on Spoof Surface Plasmon Polaritons
Published 2020-01-01“…A comparative study of surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensing performance based on frequency and angle variations shows that the sensing sensitivity for frequency region is superior to that of angle region; in the meanwhile, as an application of biosensors, we have detected different types of brain lesions in the frequency range. Furthermore, the reflection amplitude is related to gap size between the prism and SSPPs. …”

Just a SNP away: The future of in vivo massively parallel reporter assay
Published 2025-02-01“…Given the complexity of the central nervous system and its widespread interactions with all other organ systems, our understanding of neuropsychiatric disorder-associated noncoding variants would be greatly advanced by studying their functional impact in the intact brain. In this review, we discuss the importance, technical considerations, and future applications of implementing MPRA in the in vivo space with the focus on neuropsychiatric disorders.…”

Impairment of neuronal activity in the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex occurs early in parkinsonism
Published 2025-01-01“…Little is known, however, regarding how neuronal activity in the executive control network of the brain changes in the parkinsonian condition.ObjectiveInvestigate the impact of parkinsonism on neuronal activity in the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC), a key region in executive control, during a go/nogo reaching task.MethodsUsing a within-subject design, single and multi-unit neuronal activity was recorded in the DLPFC of a nonhuman primate (n = 1) before and after the induction of mild parkinsonism using the neurotoxin 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine (MPTP).ResultsCoincident with development of mild parkinsonian motor signs, there was a marked reduction in the percentage of DLPFC cells with significant task-related firing rate modulation during go and nogo conditions.ConclusionThese results suggest that DLPFC dysfunction may occur early in parkinsonism and contribute to cognitive impairments and disrupted executive function often observed in PD patients.…”
