Comparative responses of two congeneric larval parasitoids of emerald ash borer to ambient temperatures: Implications for biocontrol introduction by Yingqiao Dang, Mitchell A. Green, Xiaoyi Wang, Jian J. Duan

    Published 2025-03-01
“…From 21.1 ℃ to 28.9 ℃, S. agrili emerged on average nine days earlier than S. galinae and had a higher low-temperature threshold for development. Both species arrested their development as mature (5th) instars inside their cocoons at 17.2 ℃, suggesting facultative diapause that may be induced by exposure to cool temperatures. …”

Characterization and Expression of Senescence Marker in Prolonged Passages of Rat Bone Marrow-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells by Noridzzaida Ridzuan, Akram Al Abbar, Wai Kien Yip, Maryam Maqbool, Rajesh Ramasamy

    Published 2016-01-01
“…Furthermore, the cell cycle analysis has confirmed the in vitro culture-mediated cellular senescence where cells were arrested at the G0/G1 phase of cell cycle. Although the currently optimized protocols had successfully yielded rBM-MSCs, the culture-mediated cellular senescence limits the growth of rBM-MSCs and its potential use in rat-based MSC research.…”

Multiple Myeloma and B Cell Lymphoma. Investigation of IL-6, IL-6 Receptor Antagonist (IL-6RA), and GP130 Antagonist (GP130A) Using Various Parameters in an In Vitro Model by Eva Kovacs

    Published 2006-01-01
“…Our results showed that (1) all five MM cell lines (OPM-2, RPMI-8226, U-266, KMS-12-BM, MOLP-8) expressed surface IL-6R and gp130, the B cell lymphomas (WSU-1, DOHH-2, U-698) expressed only gp130; (2) exogenous IL-6 markedly up-regulated the expression of membrane IL-6R (up to 186%) and down-regulated the gp130 receptor (down to 4%) in MM cell lines, the membrane expression of gp130 in B cell lymphomas was not altered; (3) IL-6 markedly increased the spontaneous proliferation (up to 151%) in all MM cell lines, that of B cell lymphomas was not affected; (4) IL-6 increased the DNA synthesis in the S cell cycle phase of MM cells and arrested the stage G2/M, IL-6 was ineffective in any cell cycle phase of B cell lymphoma; (5) IL-6RA inhibited the membrane IL-6R partially, the proliferation was decreased only slightly; and (6) although gp130A inhibited the membrane gp130 completely, the proliferation was decreased 81—78% in MM and B cell lymphoma cell lines. …”

    Published 2025-01-01
“…In iSCNT, normal embryos (defined as those that developed to the blastocyst stage) took a longer time to reach the morula stage, and these morulas were more likely to undergo compaction, compared to their arrested embryo counterparts. Direct cleavage in the first division is a morphological aberration, and was seen with greater prevalence in iSCNT embryos than control IVF embryos; these aberrant embryos displayed a significantly lower blastocyst development rate than embryos that had undergone normal cleavage. …”
