Issues of the Russian liquefied natural gas market in the context of sanctions pressure and ways to solve them
Published 2024-10-01“…However, under the conditions of sanctions imposed by “unfriendly” countries on the supply of technologies and equipment required for liquefied natural gas production and transportation, not only the industry development, but also implementation of the Energy Strategy of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2035 is threatened, especially major projects implementation on the Arctic coast of the country. All of the above speaks for the relevance of the study, the objectives of which are to assess the Russian market of liquefied natural gas in the context of the introduced technological restrictions, to identify the key problems arising as a result of this unfavorable situation and to determine the directions for the industry further development.…”

Topside Electron Density Modeling Using Neural Network and Empirical Model Predictions
Published 2023-12-01“…Abstract We model the electron density in the topside of the ionosphere with an improved machine learning (ML) model and compare it to existing empirical models, specifically the International Reference Ionosphere (IRI) and the Empirical‐Canadian High Arctic Ionospheric Model (E‐CHAIM). In prior work, an artificial neural network (NN) was developed and trained on two solar cycles worth of Defense Meteorological Satellite Program data (113 satellite‐years), along with global drivers and indices to predict topside electron density. …”

Seasonal changes of mélange thickness coincide with Greenland calving dynamics
Published 2025-01-01“…We develop a three-dimensional discrete element model of mélange along with a simple analytical model to quantify the mélange buttressing using mélange thickness data from ArcticDEM over 32 Greenland glacier termini. We observed a strong seasonality in mélange thickness: thin mélange (averaged thickness $$3{4}_{-15}^{+17}$$ 3 4 − 15 + 17 m) in summertime when terminus retreats, and thick mélange (averaged thickness $$11{9}_{-37}^{+31}$$ 11 9 − 37 + 31 m) in wintertime when terminus advances. …”
