Research on the Preparation of Modified TiO2 Composite Coatings with Anti-Fouling and Flashover Resistance
Published 2024-12-01“…In order to effectively reduce the occurrence of pollution flashover accidents caused by surface contamination of transmission line insulators, a new fluorocarbon coating material was prepared by combining modified nano-TiO2, PTFE and fluorocarbon resin FEVE using compressed air spraying technology. The optimum addition amount of modified TiO2 particles was discussed. The microstructure was studied using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM).The hydrophobicity, self-cleaning properties and anti-ultraviolet aging resistance were analyzed using a contact angle measurement instrument. The results showed that the optimum addition amount of modified nano-TiO2 was 4%,the adhesion of the coating reached grade 0,and the maximum static contact angle was 121°.The surface of the anti-pollution flashover composite coating prepared with modified TiO2 exhibited numerous micro-nano scale columnar cone tip structures, resulting in higher roughness. Its hydrophobicity, self-cleaning ability, and anti-ultraviolet aging resistance were improved, demonstrating excellent antipollution flashover performance.…”

Assessing factors influencing adolescent sexual debut in Nigeria: a multi-cluster survival analysis approach
Published 2025-01-01“…IntroductionEarly sexual debut is an area of concern in Nigeria with implications for reproductive health.MethodsThis study addresses this by proposing a more effective survival model—one that incorporates both independent and identically distributed (IID) and Besag intrinsically conditional auto-regressive (ICAR) random effect priors, using a generalised additive model that accounts for both individual and spatial influences on age at first sex. We analyse data from the 2018 Nigerian NDHS survey and compare our model with existing models: a model without the cluster frailty effect, a model that ignores the Besag ICAR and includes the IID, and a model that ignores the IID and includes only the Besag ICAR.ResultsOur approach, which combines independent and spatial random effects, outperforms others based on statistical criteria (Deviation Information Criterion and the Widely Applicable Information Criterion).DiscussionAs shown in this study, the proposed model effectively captures the complexity of age at first sex. …”
