Modeling and analysis of ensemble average solvation energy and solute–solvent interfacial fluctuations by Shao Yuanzhen, Chen Zhan, Zhao Shan

    Published 2024-12-01
“…We devise two diffuse-interface VISMs: one within the classic Poisson–Boltzmann (PB) framework and another within the framework of size-modified PB theory, accounting for the finite-size effects. The construction of these models relies on a new diffuse interface definition u(x)u\left(x), which represents the probability of a point xx found in the solute phase among all microstates. …”

A multiscale model for glioma spread including cell-tissue interactions and proliferation by Christian Engwer, Markus Knappitsch, Christina Surulescu

    Published 2015-12-01
“…Glioma is a broad class of brain and spinal cord tumors arising from glia cells, which are the main brain cells that can develop into neoplasms. They are highly invasive and lead to irregular tumor margins which are not precisely identifiable by medical imaging, thus rendering a precise enough resection very difficult. The understanding of glioma spread patterns is hence essential for both radiological therapy as well as surgical treatment. In this paper we propose a multiscale model for glioma growth including interactions of the cells with the underlying tissuenetwork, along with proliferative effects. Our current accounting for two subpopulations of cells to accomodate proliferation according to the go-or-grow dichtomotyis an extension of the setting in [16].As in that paper, we assume that cancer cells use neuronal fiber tracts as invasive pathways. …”

Monitoring the interaction of production structures by A. E. Miller, A. M. Davydov

    Published 2022-05-01
“…Observation as the most important stage of the system of monitoring the interaction of production structures is proposed to be carried out through the use of such methods of collecting information and processing results as analysis of freely available materials, expert survey, questionnaire, statistical accounting, calculation method. The results of the evaluation of the interaction of production structures determined within the framework of the corresponding stage of the monitoring system are studied as fundamental in the implementation of regulatory measures by the interacting structures in terms of specifying regulatory and technical and technological requirements for its participants.…”
