A two or three compartments hyperbolic reaction-diffusion model for the aquatic food chain by Elvira Barbera, Giancarlo Consolo, Giovanna Valenti

    Published 2014-12-01
“…Two hyperbolic reaction-diffusion models are built up in the framework of Extended Thermodynamics in order to describe the spatio-temporal interactions occurring in a two or three compartments aquaticfood chain. The first model focuses on the dynamics between phytoplankton and zooplankton, whereas the second one accounts also for the nutrient. In these models, infections and influence of illumination on photosynthesis are neglected. …”

Existence of Nontrivial Solutions for Unilaterally Asymptotically Linear Three-Point Boundary Value Problems by Hongyu Li

    Published 2014-01-01
“…Using fixed point theorems in ordered Banach spaces with the lattice structure, we consider the existence of nontrivial solutions under the condition that the nonlinear term can change sign and study the existence of sign-changing solutions for some second order three-point boundary value problems. Our results improve and generalize on those in the literatures.…”

Weighted mixed regression localization method based on three-dimensional Voronoi diagram division by Fenfang LI, Xiaochao DANG, Zhanjun HAO

    Published 2022-06-01
“…With the development of the wireless communication technology and sensing technology, various technologies based on wireless sensor networks are applied. These technologies are widely used in the fields of intelligent agriculture, intelligent transportation, fire rescue and so on.Node localization technology is one of the basic technologies of wireless sensor networks.Location information is a part of the sensing data, which determines the specific measures to be taken in the next step.Due to the complexity of the three-dimensional (3D) space localization environment, the application of the plane positioning method in 3D space will have some limitations.Aiming at above problems, the weighted hybrid regression location algorithm WMR-SKR based on a 3D Voronoi diagram was studied. The localization algorithm was divided into two stages: offline training and online testing. The 3D space was divided into Voronoi diagrams according to the anchor nodes in the network. In the offline training stage, the sequence composed of the coordinates of the anchor nodes and Voronoi cell vertices was used as the training set for training. In the online test stage, the coordinates of unknown nodes in the network were predicted through the trained localization model.Simulation results show that the WMR-SKR algorithm can effectively reduce the node localization error and improve the node localization speed in 3D space.…”

The geographical digital divide in broadband access and governmental policies in Japan: three case studies by Yoshio Arai, Sae Naganuma

    Published 2010-08-01
“…Although broadband access has spread to a certain degree in developed countries/regions, geographical gaps in broadband access (the so-called “geographical digital divide”) remain. Based on three case studies in less-favoured areas of Japan (Hokkaido, Nagano Prefecture and Mie Prefecture), we examined how the geographical digital divide is being bridged, and the contributions that national and local government policies make to this process. …”
