“…<正>在我国西北黄土高原的农田里,经常可以看到成片的土丘,这是中华鼢鼠（Myospalax fontanieri）在农田打洞时将所挖掘的土推到地面而形成的.中华鼢鼠俗称瞎老鼠,隶属于啮齿目仓鼠科.其体形与鼹鼠相似,但较粗大,体重平均为369.85g,平均体长19.76cm.前额中央有一醒目的白斑.由于适应于地下挖掘取食,其前足爪十分发达,呈铲状,门齿也很发达,嗅觉和听觉十分敏感,但视力低下,耳壳退化.中华鼢鼠的洞道相当复杂,平时地面洞口被堵塞,看不到洞口,只是在地面形成大小不等的土丘.洞道一般分两部分,一为洞道,另一为窝巢.洞道是觅食所掘的主道,与地面平行,距地面深8¹1cm,相当长,占地面积可达35m².洞道下方有1²条向下的通路,直通窝巢.窝巢距地面多在1m以上,分巢、仓库及便所等部分.…”
