Robust adaptive beamforming algorithm
Published 2009-01-01“…The performance of least mean squares(LMS) algorithm degraded dramatically in the presence of even slight steering vector mismatches. In order to overcome the shortage,a novel robust adaptive beamforming algorithm based on the variable diagonal loading technique was proposed. The signal steering vector was obtained via the gradient-descent method and the diagonal loading term was incorporated at each recursive step. Then, the optimal weight vector was de-rived.To account for the contradiction of convergence rate and steady errors,a function between the step size and input signals was built to obtain the variable step size. The proposed algorithm had a low complexity cost without the inverse matrix and eigendecomposition. The proposed algorithm offered faster convergence rate, provided a sufficient robustness against the mismatches and made the mean output array SINR consistently close to the optimal one.The theoretical analysis and simulation results demonstrate that the performance of the proposed algorithm can outperform that of the conventional algorithm.…”

Polynomial estimation method for PN sequence based on reliability accumulation
Published 2012-09-01“…The issues of insufficient efficiency and poor error-tolerance of current high-order polynomial estimation me-thods under error conditions were studied.By combining the iterative berlekamp-massey(BM)algorithm in GF(2)and the improved Chase algorithm,a novel algorithm based on reliability accumulation was proposed. The sequence soft infor-mation was mapped to sequence reliability as the input information of BM algorithm, and the corresponding output relia-bility of estimated polynomial was accumulated as the rule of correct polynomial. In order to improve the estimation pre-cision,the candidate reliability-accumulated polynomial set were reduced by the characteristics of primitive polynomial in GF(2).The simulation results show that the proposed method is irrelevant with the tapped number of ator poly-nomial,and has a good estimation performance to estimate 17-order polynomials when the sequence BER is 18%.…”

Chain structure Bluetooth scatternet topology formation algorithm and performance simulations
Published 2006-01-01“…A novel chain structure Bluetooth scatternet algorithm for topology formation was presented:all Bluetooth nodes turn into INQUIRY or INQUIRY SCAN states with identical probability,0.5,then set point-to-point connections up simultaneously. As a result,as large as possible numbers of temporary piconets were made up,and furthermore, some larger piconets and groups composed of several piconets were made up through varieties of merging and recomposing repeatedly. Finally,a chain structure scatternet bearing only one group were formed by operating the algorithm after several times.Simulations and performance analysis indicate that the scatternet formed by this algorithm has excellent characteristics:comparably less number of piconets, less average number of roles every node and less number of maximum degree of nodes, shorter networking establishment time, easier to maintain topology dynamically and dispensable for all nodes to be in communication range, etc. The algorithm can be used for Bluetooth scatternet topology formation.…”
