Structure and performance analysis of binary differential stochastic process shift keying by Zhi-jiang XU, Xiao LING, Kang WANG, Li-min MENG

    Published 2014-12-01
“…A novel modulation and demodulation structure based on binary differential stochastic process shift keying (BDSPSK) is proposed. The theoretical bit error rates (BER) under the Gaussian and quasi-static Rayleigh fading chan-nels are derived, respectively. To verify its performances and security, lots of simulations are done by using MATLAB.The simulations' results show that the BER of the proposed BDSPSK can reach 10−4when signal to noise ratio (SNR) is about −2 dB in the Gaussian channel or 25 dB in the Rayleigh fading channel.Meanwhile, the proposed method has a good concealment due to its undetectable property by the generalized second order cyclostationary spectrum, which makes it suit for secure communications in the physical layer.…”

vmrseq: probabilistic modeling of single-cell methylation heterogeneity by Ning Shen, Keegan Korthauer

    Published 2024-12-01
“…We present vmrseq, a statistical method that overcomes these challenges to detect VMRs with increased accuracy in synthetic benchmarks and improved feature selection in case studies. vmrseq also highlights context-dependent correlations between methylation and gene expression, supporting previous findings and facilitating novel hypotheses on epigenetic regulation. vmrseq is available at https://github.com/nshen7/vmrseq .…”

Hierarchy analysis and modeling on the Internet AS-level topology by GUO Hong1, YANG Bai-wei2, LAN Ju-long1, LIU Luo-kun2

    Published 2011-01-01
“…Based on the in-depth analysis of he massive real AS-level topology data, the multi characteristics describing Internet AS-level topology’s hierarchy were abstracted, and a material way about network’s hierarchical partition were introduced, and the number of connected edged of adding new nodes and nonlinear probability were gived. Finally,a novel hierarchical dynamic evolution model named IAT-HDEM based on corenness and the k-core decomposition was proposed. The numerical simulations and analysis results showed that most of macroscopic statistics closed to real networks’,including power-law degree distribution and negative correlation clustering-degree distribution etc.…”

Le détournement du genre policier sur la scène anglaise contemporaine : One Minute (2003) de Simon Stephens et Orphans (2009) de Dennis Kelly by Aloysia Rousseau

    Published 2015-04-01
“…It can at best be considered as an unfortunate collocation, derived from the canonical genre that is the detective novel. The whodunit is the only recurring expression in common critical vocabulary used to refer to the transposition of crime fiction to the stage, an obsolete expression which is obviously not a satisfying one when applied to contemporary detective plays such as Simon Stephens’ One Minute (2003) and Dennis Kelly’s Orphans (2009). …”

Retina-imitation sampling based binary descriptor by Qingsheng YUAN, Guoqing JIN, Dongming ZHANG, Xiuguo BAO

    Published 2019-01-01
“…The existing binary descriptors, generated from random or uniform point pairs sampling, suffer from low robustness and high computation.A novel sampling method, named RBS (retina-imitation based sampling),was proposed, which combines different densities sampling,multi-scale smoothing and reception field overlapping to imitate the converting from light signal to vision of ganglion cells of human retina cells, and further selects most discriminative comparison pairs based on learning on training data. Finally, compact binary descriptor was generated based on comparisons between the neighbor mean instead of singe sampled point. The experimental results show the RBS-128 with 128 bit outperforms FREAK and BRSIK with 512 bit about 16.4% and 5.3% in precision on the dataset provided by Mikolajczyk.…”

L’artificieuse alternative de Ford Madox Ford dans The Good Soldier by Catherine Pesso-Miquel

    Published 2009-12-01
“…This article begins by analysing the various devices used by modernist and postmodernist novelists to break the frame of narrative illusion (devices often based on an either/or opposition), before showing that Ford boldly preferred the conjunction and, piling up aporetic contradictions and incompatibilities that operate at the level of plot, grammar, time scheme, and characterisation. Thus the novel brilliantly creates the illusion that there is an elaborate, rich story to be understood and interpreted while at the same time preventing any satisfactory piecing together, by the reader, of all the details and fragments of this discontinuous tale. …”
