| Summary: | “Verfahrenstechnik” should not be considered as a superposition of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics and chemistry. It is shown by many examples that the problems to be solved are more general than those treated up till now in these sciences. The combination of heat- or masstransfer with fluid dynamics leads to the counter current principle not only used in engineering but in living organism too. The miniaturization reached in the living world could in many cases be an example for the technical development.
