| Summary: | The purpose of this article is to highlight the main issues related to the exploitation of stone products and to justify a methodology for enhancing the mechanical strength of architectural and construction products made from natural stone through reinforcement.
The research is based on computer modeling and experimental determination of the strength properties of architectural and decorative products made from natural stone reinforced with reinforcing cores. The modeling was conducted using Autodesk Inventor software, which allowed for an assessment of the overall impact of reinforcement on the mechanical characteristics of the stone. The experimental part of the study includes a detailed description of the sample preparation procedures and the requirements that must be met during this process, the reinforcement with steel and composite reinforcement, the conduction of tests to determine the strength indicators, and the analysis of the obtained results.
The scientific novelty of this work lies in the development of a comprehensive approach to managing the strength characteristics of stone products through the use of reinforcing cores by developing new computer models and evaluation methodologies that consider the impact of reinforcing elements on the stone structure. As a result, the degree of influence of using steel and composite reinforcement on the possibility of increasing tensile and bending strength was established, which had not been studied at this level of detail before.
The application of the developed methods for reinforcing architectural and construction products made from natural stone will significantly enhance their resistance to mechanical loads, thereby expanding the possibilities for their use in construction and interior design. This is particularly important for preserving the aesthetic and operational characteristics of products used in facade cladding, flooring, and reinforcing other decorative elements. |
