Description
Summary:Because of its location on the border of Ghana, the capital of Togo leads us to question the articulation between the notions of identity, “territory” and border. We suggest investigating this articulation by the use of the notion of postborder city, forged from the analysis of the urban continuum from the Californy to the Baja California in Mexico. In Lome, the passage of the border city to the post-border city underlines the forms of transition enter a colonial shape of organization of the border to a space shaped by postcoloniales logics. In this perspective, the notion of postborder city allows to insist on the various temporality of the boundary Togo / Ghana which participate in the identical and territorial dynamics of Lome.
