description The aim of this article is to glimpse readings that can be made on aspects of everyday life of the populations involved in the extraction and illegal sale of tungsten in the years of the Second World War in Galicia. In our view, for the generation that lived through the «Wolfram fever», that time and his memory is a vanishing point regarding the reality of post-war. In times of hunger and fear, tungsten, inside or outside the law, acted as an escape valve that facilitated survival allowing traces of collective euphoria.
